Sorry. I feel like Stralman carried Staal last season not the other way around. If Staal has to carry Boyle defensively they will both be -20. I see nothing but those guys getting trapped in their own end unable to get the puck out of their own zone. Maybe that's just me.

I think Klein as the 4 maybe better off...Moore and Boyle wil get the least ice time

With that said, I wouldn't be opposed to trading John Moore right now

I don't either carried the other. They were just a good pair that worked together.

Boyle is not the same anymore, how much better is he? I think we just threw a wrench in the defense, too much turnover, what are we saving this money for?

I agree with you here. I don't think Stralman"carried" Staal, I think they read off each other extremely well and trusted each others instincts to stay back when the other jumped into the play. I do not see Boyle doing that while working with Staal. I say Staal plays with Klein.

I agree but will Boyle then be bumped to the 3rd pairing?

Way too much negativity and absolutes for a guy who few, if any, have watched play on a day-in, day-out basis... Give Boyle a chance to play before you turn on him. Guys don't stick around and remain productive in the NHL until age 38 by accident. Terms of the deal seem pretty favorable to me.

We were never going to be able to keep the band together... But change doesn't mean we're doomed to fail. Give the players, coaches, and FO a chance. Did you think we'd end up in the SCF at this point last year??

He's here for one reason...pp puck carrier shooter set up man. The PP under AV should be awesome. That was the biggest problem all year, or least consistent part of the team

He averaged over 21 minutes a game on one of the league's best offensive teams last season. We're not getting Roman Hamrlik here.

I might be, but there is a reason San Jose let their PP qb go in UFA.

Yes, I would think so. Very cheap 7th defender, and if he doesn't cut it, you can always bring up McIlrath or Allen. And, if they don't cut it, you can always find some vet in-season.

I don't wanna go that far... Nothing is a slam dunk, especially when it comes to this team and this city... But give him and the team a chance! Man... I love Stralman but the guy isn't exactly the greatest D man of all time.

Because it's time for a change there. Same reason they're actively shopping Thornton. Doesn't mean Thornton is washed up
