Another subject that I'm sure some people will debate:

People, if you work in an office setting, turn your god damn ringer to silent or vibrate.

Is there a time limit on how long the Flyers can keep shifting Pronger's salary off the books? Perhaps the league will just penalize the Flyers with the 30th overall in the first round like the Devils, because let's face it, he's not coming back at age 40 after a 3 year absence is he?

No, this is a correct use of LTIR.

So? they're not doing anything that is not allowed in the CBA. They played under the rules of the CBA with 35-year-old contracts and now they're playing by the same rules because he can't retire without penalty.

Also, (frank) off troll.

Someone's getting text messages and it has this annoying little popping sound every 2 minutes. Want to throttle whoever it is.

Then the Bruins would have to be penalized too. Can't help they were both injured by plays in the games. Pronger took a high stick and Savard got leveled by cook.

It was an honest question. Thought I'd ask the fan base most likely to be up to speed on the topic. But thanks for your input.

Judging by past posts this morning. You, sir, are in an ornery mood. This should be entertaining.

In terms of what? They're completely different players. That crazy 1-on-2 pinch he made in the championship game turns into a goal 10 times out of 10 in the NHL or even the AHL. Those are risks he needs to learn to back off of. His positioning can also use some serious work.

I love the kid and am completely excited for him, but let's not rush him into the NHL just because we can.

- jmatchett383

I see your point with the pinch play. but I look at it this way... he makes that play in ncaa but is smart enough to know not to make in ahl or nhl. overall, he showed he can play sound smart d. theres plays im sure he tried in ncaa just because he knew he was so much better than competition. just like a 3 year jr"s player would pull.

You may be right. But I'd like some time in the AHL to prove that to his coaches before we just throw him in the deep end.

Well let's let him not do that in the AHL and see how he handles the grind of a full season (or at least more frequent games) against professionals before we throw him into the NHL...unless he plays in training camp/preseason like a 10-year pro.

I think they are penalizing them by making them move him to LTIR every season

I don't think the NHL has a problem with how the Flyers are proceeding here. I don't think they view it as circumventing the cap by using LTIR as it's intended to be used. If they did something would have already been done
