JUST TO KEEP CONVERSATION GOING.

Flyers Will Look at Gorges if Leafs Can't Sway Him. (E3)
"The Flyers are after a D-man today. Ehrhoff, Niskanen, Boyle and more will be talked to."
- Eklund

So if they get Gorges then I would assume Grossmann would be flipped somewhere else.

Maybe today could be interesting as Hextall tries to move money and players to reshape this team.

Not likely. He'd have to have a really fantastic camp where there is no logical way to send him to the AHL because there are other players likely ahead of him on the depth charts (Alt for sure, possibly Lauridsen and Hagg) and because he still has some major parts of his game that need work. For all of his offensive prowess, he still needs some major work on his defensive game and his decision making that can only be learned by playing at a higher level, and I'd prefer those growing pains occur at the AHL level.

Guys I may check on today:

TJ Brennan
TJ Galiardi
Leo Komarov
Chad Johnson
Thomas Griess
Peter Meuller

I can't name any bigger ones until I move some salray. If Ducks want a rugged stay at home d then Grossmann would be perfect. Maybe you can get someone like Matt Beleskey or Patrick Maroon back as they can fill in on third line and Beleskey seemed to do well riding shotgun with getzlaf and perry. Or maybe a Sami Vatanen

- J35Bacher

I don't mind any of the names on your list on reasonable deals, especially Komarov and Greiss. Brennan I wouldn't mind on the Phantoms as a guy who could get the call-up if something happened.

I don't see the Ducks moving Maroon, last I read they were trying to lock him up to an extension.

Thorburn is a better player than Shelley. He can get you 4-6 goals and 12-15 points which is much more than the Flyers ever got from Shelley.
- BiggE

If Shelley was signed for 300-400K less (and maybe only 2 years), that deal wouldn't have been picked apart so badly.

Oh no the avatar change. I no longer have any idea who you are or what your past opinions about anything are. We will need to rehash them all over again

No, it still would be, because that's the Rosehill deal.

from what I saw his defense is fine. I agree he would grow in ahl but I don't think hed grow faster or better in ahl compared to nhl. yeah he will have growing pains but all young players do. he couldn't do any worse than grossman

In terms of what? They're completely different players. That crazy 1-on-2 pinch he made in the championship game turns into a goal 10 times out of 10 in the NHL or even the AHL. Those are risks he needs to learn to back off of. His positioning can also use some serious work.

I love the kid and am completely excited for him, but let's not rush him into the NHL just because we can.

Let's see how he fares in training camp and some preseason games before we peg his game one way or the other against NHL players.
