With Hextall's background in LA I'm curious if we might end up seeing Willie Mitchell or Kyle Quincey signing as a replacement/ extra D-man. Quincey had his best years with LA and Mitchell seems like a Hextall guy. I don't know if either would be reasonable or how Hexy felt about either.

Rutherford says a Kulemin signing is now unlikely. He doesn't think Pens need a top-6 winger at this point.

He'd be a nice piece to add

I think this place would need an exorcism if that happened. I have a twisted sense of humor, would be kind of funny to watch him back in orange and black.

I actually wouldn't mind it if he was a backup at a REASONABLE contract

Funny how many people cry when MJL removes emotion and argues with purely facts. The fact that he is devoid of all emotion only increases the emotion of his peers. It's really hilarious.
- steelydan

If his facts were the "full" facts I wouldn't call BS on him as much as I do.....his # s are correct but there are other hurdles that render them disingenuous.....you can't circumvent the cap. There are safeguards built in....no matter how hard he wishes to argue the point.

I think Pens need two more wingers in the top 9 looking at their roster. Plus still need to sign RFAs. how great would it be to OS Despres for something where you give up a 2nd round pick and force penguins to match for more then they want and put them in cap trouble. And piss them off too

Hard to get a gauge on Hextall. I'm a fan of not overpaying for mediocrity (A Holmgren trademark). Having no flexibility to improve the team blows.

Hexy's playing chess, thinking 3 moves ahead. We're more used to thinking in terms of Homer playing checkers.

I didn't mind his personality what I minded was that he couldn't contain himself around the hyenas we call the media. We were the laughing stock of the NHL because of him. No thanks. I was ecstatic when they bought him out. I'm not sure he was good in the room either. And Mason needs a supporting staff not a cold shoulder.

Checkers? I was thinking more painting by outrageous, overblown, numbers.

Still both available. Only deal I wish the Flyers would have looked into is Dom Moore. Everything else has been ridiculous.

I excluded Ehrhoff because I assume he wasn't going to sign with the Flyers for anything close to what he got.

I really think he is waiting on Nashville. They wanted a 2nd line center. Didn't get one and now he actually got a little leverage in at least getting a workable asset back from Nashville. They paid the 2 million so now they are just waiting it out.

I was thinking how it seems Toronto missed out on the players they wanted like Bolland. How about a move like Vinny, Grossmann and a pick for Phaneuf and prospect.

If only the Flyers were as legit contenders as that team in black and gold that got bounced in the second round.
