I think there is a handshake between Emery and Hexy for when VL is moved and there is cap. He seems like a Hexy kinda guy.

I'd probably be ok with any of them except Thomas. I'd also keep Brodeur to a short contract.
But this is my bias and I am far from a goalie guru.
I do like the idea of getting a goalie back in a trade if we do one. Either way I think we get at least one of these 4 as we need not only a back-up for the big club but someone for the AHL.

I doubt they need to wait for VL. We have 4M+ to spend with the Pronger's LTIR, and 5M+ with the 10% overage (since we sent Gus a QO). I doubt we sign any back-up goalie for more than 1M or so...
It's more likely that they are waiting for their favorite (Emery or otherwise) to sift through offers before deciding.
