In its own way, that's as bad as David Clarkson's deal -- which everybody knew was awful, but you could at least pretend that you might get three or four seasons of 20 goals from Clarkson before it killed you

They've haven't had to remake their team. They already had a real solid foundation -- and then just Spezza and Hemsky to their second line, behind the Benn-Seguin-Nichushkin line.

However, the Dallas D corps is still suspect at the NHL level. Still a bit too undersized/ not physical enough. There are plenty of good young D in the system, however.

I'm not even mad about the Flyers being idle through this process. I'm mad that guys like Boyle and Ehrhoff took discounts to play for the Rangers and Penguins.
