Interesting part of this Spezza trade to Dallas is that GM Jim Nill on Saturday thought Spezza wouldn't go to Dallas.

demanding a trade kills the return once again

I really like Chiasson though

Both he and Ryan can play both sides. If they click, they could be dangerous.

There are always exceptions to the rule. Smart men should be able to ceate a system that works.

It already works as far as LTIR is concerned.

Two pretty legit number one centers in Dallas now. They're not messing around.

Yeah. I mean, it was a pure fluke that he always ended up on the top producing line with changing linemates every season and postseason. A 5 year fluke. He's worthless, agreed.

Stop. It was a joke.

Man, you're easy.

Yes. Read can move up and produce 20+ goals and 50+ points. Is Umberger going to produce on the third line like Read does?

It moves everybody up a spot. I don't worry about our top line. A monkey could play with G and Jake and score goals. I worry about the overall depth.

- PhillySportsGuy

I think there are guys in the lineup (Vinny!!, Simmer, Coots, Read, etc) that are being under-utilized offensively... bump those guys up and get a bit more out of them. Think Akeson and Raffl could also have some solid production in their sticks, who knows.

Worse comes to worst, there's going to be no shortage of value buys on bottom-six F's in UFA.

Hartnell for Umberger was just the first move of Hextalls' plan. Have to let it play out and see what happens.

For Bobby Ryan since they're going to lose him next year anyway.

There had been talk between Dallas and San Jose re: Joe Thornton but Jumbo doesn't want to waive at this point so Stars acted on Spezza

Not really. It doesn't take into account guys on 35+ deals who careers were derailed due to the play of other players.

I would be really pissed if Bruins because Savard was injured on a dirty play that was a penalty and now they have to keep playing this game with LTIR and it wasn'a result of anything they did.

Please it is the Hockeybuzz Flyers forum.

1. Flyers suck
2. The experts here know more about hockey than the people that get paid to do this for a living.
3. Phillies are awesome..no wait..thats wrong.

No time for patience!

Lecavalier for Ryan? C'mon, Ryan isn't resigning with Ottawa.

Kane, Ryan and Iginla are on my list. All might be out of reach though.

Did he break up with you?

I didn't find anything offensive in that article. What's he supposed to say? "Um, yeah, Pittsburgh is okay, I guess."
