Zach Redmond was another guy the Pens were rumored to be talking to. He'd be a good depth guy, but seems a little redundant to me. - YouMeAndDupuis9
He would be a nice 7th defenseman but we already have plenty of younger dmen who would bring just as much if not more to the table than him. |

Benoit Pouliot rooted for the Penguins as a youngster.
Kulemin is good friend's with Geno.
Ehrhoff played for the KREFELD PINGUINE in Germany.
Goc is a friend of Ehrhoff in Team Germany.
Everything just makes too much sense. SIGN THEM UP! |

Vrbata is hitting the market but I haven't yet seen anything that connects the Penguins to him. - Ryan_Wilson
If the Pens get anyone like Vrbata, Hemsky, Michalek, etc....I'll be concerned about the term. While they aren't super old, I'd be careful about handing out 4 year contracts to them. Not just that they can decline getting older, but there's no guarantee they fit here and that's a long commitment. See: Scuderi. Same thing with Paul Martin. If he didn't turn around his game, we were stuck with 5 years of a wasted asset or would have been forced to trade him for pennies.
I also think many people that sign in free agency can turn into big trade chips. Guys that signed like Jagr, Iginla, and even Briere were acquired for no assets and then became very valuable trade chips. Something to keep in mind. |

Hard worker, good on faceoffs, very good defensively. I mean, very good option for our 4th line. Nothing less, nothing more Bartsy.
How's Killian doing in MD? |

Im with you there. Not sure why people are enamored with him. The only thing I remember about him in the playoffs were some ill timed penalties he took. |

I'd be especially leery of Hemsky...that guy can't stay healthy and if the Penguins are looking to go back to being a team with a better physical presence...not seeing how that would make him a good choice.
I'd be shocked if they didn't get another guy or 2 that has that 'other wing' on a top 2 line potential...and third line being the primary home.
People try and slot guys into roles but we know that unless they free up money to sign a true top 6 guy (with that pedigree) they are going to have Crosby, Malkin, Hornqvist and Kunitz in the top 6 with the other two best wings 'at the time' playing along side Crosby and Geno on lines 1 and 2.

Put it that way: Goc > Vitale, Sill, Zolnierczyk or any option we have right now. |

Fourth line I can see that I guess. He is doing pretty good; although he spilled all of my honey mustard and onion snyders pretzels on the ground last time he was at my house; which that I will never forgive him for, other than that he is great. |

Also can't really count his playoff efforts against him when half the team disappeared who weren't on the 4th line. |

Well to be totally accurate he played quite a lot of 3rd line minuets when Sutturd moved up to the second line while Geno played with Sid. I remember way too much Goc. |

When it comes to DB is there truly ever enough blame we can throw at him? |

Pretty sure I called his rumor's "Random tidbits he gets from whoever he asks on the street or in the bar after his 9th drink" and didn't have that one deleted. |

After seeing yesterday that the Blue Jackets and Johansen aren't close on a deal and that he feels they slapped him in the face with their offer, do you offer him a contract and force Columbus's hand? |

Miller in Vancouver, I bet is already done. |

Love how this team is trying to build for the post season, so they trade Neal but leave fleury as their starter. Since the cup, he's been one of the major concerns but every year he's going to turn it around. If you really want to make a statement, axe him. The entire team will play better knowing they have a goalie who might make a save or two |

We don't have the picks to offer an offer sheet. |
