Actually it seems like Montreal wanted to make a trade to clear cap space, so it makes sense that they would leak the info in forcing Gorges' hand.


So after the trade Bergevin acts pissed and therefore clears Montreal of any wrong doing? Very convenient. If anything he should have made an effort to patch thing ups after Gorges cools down.

My guess is Gorges agent leaked the info so all teams know Gorges is on the block and he can find a place where he wants to play. It wasn't in Montreal's interest to leak the information as it would reduce whatever return they were hoping to get for Gorges.
