I'm going to try this one last time. If Bergevin wants his team to be a perennial contender, then he needs Galchenyuk to develop into what was initially planned, which would push Desharnais to 2 and either of Eller or Plekanec to 3C. So unless you can magically make Desharnais disappear, the fate of either Eller or Plekanec has to be 3C. If you really believe that teams around the league see him as a real 2C, then trade him now.
