in Gorges' case, he's already played in Mtl, experience what's its like to play in the BEST HOCEKY CITY in the world... his choices are go to a crappy team to experience a lesser version of this city, or go down south to a warm location or a contender...

if i'm being honest, if i'm a player on a Canadian team and i can pick 15 destinations, i wouldn't put a Canadian team on there either. the demands in Canada are much higher on players, like it or not. if you're going to put up with the Canadian demand, while making the same salary (with lower net income, most likely), you want to at least play on a contending team. the teams in Canada range from mediocre to all out tire fires. you want to see players include Canadian teams on their "trade to" lists? Canadian teams need to stop being so poopty first.
