I think it's nothing personal with Gorges...Bergevin just doesn't like his contract. If he wants his team to stay competitive, and all the while able to afford Subban's big pay day coming up, he has to shed salary on the cap. There is interest for Gorges? If I'm Bergevin, I do the same thing. It's a business.

I just miss the old days where NTCs didn't existed and when players just STFU and went where they were told.

I have to agree with that. It is a business now. And I too would like to see the NTC disappear.

I have mixed feelings about this. I like NTCs, but not as a bargaining chip. I'm sure there are still players who take enough pride in the logo on their jersey to deserve a NTC

I have no problem with NTC's as long as they are null and void when a player requests a trade.

Told by agent D.Meehan that #Habs haven't asked about J.Iginla, contrary to some reports.

He's a playoff producer. Obviously a better fit in Denver.

Great deal for Avs.

Ek was on to something when he questioned his lack of play time.

Also, 2 or 3 BIG NAME twitter accounts have mentioned Optimus Reim, Reimtime, the Reiminister of Defence as going to Winnipeg. Twitter said so

Benoit Pouliot:

"Pouliot is a very talented player who has yet to put it all together at the pro level. An explosive skater with a good handle on the puck and a hard, accurate shot, he has the tools to be a top-line forward in the NHL. Questions about his attitude, commitment to playing defense and consistency have dogged him since turning pro however. If he can master the mental side of the game and learn a more disciplined approach to the game, he could be a top talent"
- Hockeys Future

For me there's no doubt when Sidney Crosby, Bobby Ryan, and Jack Johnson are the only guys taken in front of you in your draft class that means you have a lot of natural skill (world class). It's unlikely he'll ever get to reach that -- but has a few things you can't buy - speed and size. It's also a big thing that he WANTS to play here. I think bringing him in is a great fit but hopefully not the "big move(s)" we're hoping for this week
