ok. - WaterBoy
The reason is irrelevant. I never thought they would be able to unload him.

Unloading Briere is quite a feat.
With Gio on his way out this club is automatically bigger.
Now if/when gorges gets traded.... it should create more room on the left side.
I wonder if MB will be active on the UFA front or more on the trade front. |

Unless the price is decent.
Jokinen (Jussi) might be available at a fair price. |

He'd be an interesting pick up.
I wonder PK's salary demands ended up forcing management to deal Gorges or if they need to free up space to take on a bigger contract? |

it's a decent place but the downtown has a very generic/American feel. it's like a much bigger Calgary. Vancouver and Montreal are nicer cities. - DoubleDown
Sorry Adam but I beg to differ. Although Toronto from a distance appears rather modern it is quite anal when it comes to preserving historical architecture within it's downtown core. Why do you think they always film here when trying to make settings of NY and Chicago?

I think all NHL teams expected the cap to be higher...
See devils and Volchenkov buyout.
Speaking of Devils... Gorges to the Devils would be a nice fit. |

Can't believe Montreal is tearing a team up that made it all the way to the ECF. Vanek, Briere, Gorges, Murray, Budaj, Weaver, White, Subban. Am I missing anybody else? |

We do need to get bigger so seeing him go makes sense. Sucks that it comes down to cash but so be it. |
