My mentions right now are a nice preview of what Leafs twitter will look like when this deal gets announced. Strap in.

Although I think we are better off without him, I think they are now handling this poorly...(at least it appears so from here...).

I do believe he deserves a bit more respect than being potentially put on waiver without first being notified...

- number_23

WTF are you talking about?

They asked him to accept a trade to Toronto. And he decided to play hard ball.

If he ends up on waivers and/or ultimately in the AHL, it's his fault. And only his fault.

Yup. But if it's the Leafs, that's crazy.

This is the part I find strange, is his contract really that bad that they can't move him easier?

are you saying they leaked the info to put pressure on Gorges? because in no other way could this be being handled poorly. they tried to trade a player. they're allowed.

As far as we know, that's only something Bob Mckenzie suggested, not something the Habs intend to do.

...and the only reason it's turning into that kind of a poopshow is because Bob heard about it and decided to leak the information on twitter.

Come on people, how often does a player love Mtl so much and don't want to go anywhere else ?

Yes he need to accept reality if there is a trade in the making but let's at least let him be disappointed.

Heart and soul player who has stated on numerous occasions how much he loved the city and the team. Can't be easy for him. Any thoughts on the impact this could have in the dressing room? Both Gionta and Georges gone leaves a pretty big void. Hopefully we get some leadership back.

I'd love a team who overpaid me as well. Not easy for him I am sure, but again, his feelings are irrelevant to me. In the room, I suppose it could be a negative. Could also be that MB is "giving the team" to PK.
