Stastny is all over the internet with those reports, Clarkson had Toronto and Edmonton wanting him, no other teams expressed solid interest.....not even his own team wanted him back at that price.

If Gary Bettman gave the Leafs an extra $7 million in cap space for a defenceman, and you were GM, what would you do with it?

Stastny is a tier or two below toews and stamkos, bozak is about three to four tiers below them.

I'd take Statsny at ~$5.5m I think; the idea of 7 years at $6m+ is quite terrifying...

Stastny is not the guys you mentioned but those guys aren't and probably will never be UFA's... Stastny on a 5 year contract is very good...
