Well that's because the Leafs were not even targeting him, they were too hellbent on signing the ineffective Clarkson....which had disaster written all over it in my book. They always focus their energies on the wrong players.

I think everyone knows their are 29 other teams in the mix and that just because the fans want a player doesn't mean that player is instantly coming to the Leafs.....well most of the fans can do this math I think lol some maybe not.

truth. they haven't signed their mandatory "too much money, too long contract" for some old plug yet this year....they have to get 1 in every year....so expect it lol

Might as well bring up freaking Gary Leeman, Daniel Marios and Dave Keon.

Stastny will just end up being another bad signing to go on your list. Clarkson was the top UFA forward last year. Komisarek was a hot commodity too when we signed him.

Stastny is not worth the contract he is about to sign.

Im just curious what it is about Stastny that:

a) makes you feel he is worth moving heaven and earth for

b) what about him makes you feel he is going to turn this Leafs team into contenders.

c) if we never do anything to get good players, how did we get Kessel, JVR, Bernier, Gardiner, Lupul...?
