Read a really good James Myrtle discussion piece this morning on l'affair Josh Gorges. He makes the point that the Leafs are headed in the opposite direction of other teams that are trying to maintain or improve on their puck possession performance.

Any talks yet on what low ball offers ottawa is preparing for Ryan? Or are they just going to let him walk next year, without bothering?

I can't remember the last time a team had two captains in a row that wanted out.

HOLY (frank), IT'S SPATSO. Did you enjoy watching the draft Friday night?

Did Myrtle happen to mention how (frank)ing awesome MacArthur is? Or that Pageau > Giroux?

Like Brassard. Like Zuccarello.

Spezza for Brassard and Zuccarello with Ottawa taking back 1/2 of Spezza's cap hit.

If you assume Brassard would sign for $4.5m and Zuccarello for $2m, Rangers gain $3m on the cap and one more year to try and fix the mess.

Rangers have to move quickly. They are dead in the water with their current salary structure. All of their RFAs including Krieder are open to relatively inexpensive (in terms of draft compensation) offers that are almost impossible for the Rangers to match (they will be able to sign some but not all).

Rangers really need to move out a big contract. They need to sign 11 players on a team that went to the SCF.

So the Rangers need to move out big contracts, and your suggestion is they go after Spezza and his 1 year left on his deal? Brilliant.

You also think Spezza is going to get you guys Brassard and Zuccarello?

(frank) Spatso, you're a nut job.

I ll sleep for like 8 hours but I don't sleep sleep I'm constantly waking up. Yeah once a week my body just shuts down and ill sleep for like 16 hours but even that's not good sleep. I need to go to sleep clinic as I'm getting older its starting to take its toll on me the last two years have been really bad.
