Well, obviously you found it pretty easy considering you made a mock Habs line up/depth chart which included Kadri. Yet, when Clarkson got brought up you put on your "who me?" shirt and went the "ZOMG YA RITESSSS NOOO CLARKSON HISSS BOO" route.
Just saying. Don't get mad im calling you out. - systemtool
Who's mad ?
Now wouldn't it be something if it's kadri though |

Dude,
The buyouts last year
The Clarkson signing
Swapping d-men, but taking salary and giving up yet another draft choice
The Phaneuf contract, which they are trying to unload before it even kicks in
The Lupul contract
The Liles contract swapped for the Gleason contract
Buying out the Gleason contract so an up against the cap team can pay for nothing for the next 4 years (not that keeping him was any better, but it is still bad management all the way back to the Liles contract)
Mishandling Reimer to the point where there will be no return at all.
so yeah, there is reason to panic. This organization has proven they have no clue. - Aetherial
I know I will now come across as a Roger Roper homer, but here goes. Some of this is previous managements fault, some isn't, some is hindsight.
The buyouts last year were fine (except obviously Liles instead of Komi would have been better. You had to buy Grabbo out. Health issues and 5.5 mil for a 3rd line centre (you'd committed to Kadri as no.2)
As I said, they shouldn't have promised Komi he would have been bought out, but fpr some reason they stuck to their word and were loyal to their player and did him a favour. I can only imagine they thought Liles would rebound????
Clarkson contract but you would've been in the minority of Leafs fans if you didn't want him as a UFA
I see no issue paying a bit more for a better dman who is right handed in Polak, than Gunnar, but along with Franson, I truly hated Gunnar.
Phaneuf, they had no choice. Absolutely no choice. Would you have let him walk? Seriously? Just let our best dman walk out of the door and leave us needing 2 better dmen? Where do those dmen come from?
The Lupul contract I am not a fan of in hindsight but I remember speaking highly of him when he was a PPG player with Kessel
Liles for Gleason, was just a swap in contracts nearly. Gleason had a bit of toughness, not much else. Liles didn't really help us a lot either at that point.
Buying out Gleason is the best move they have made so far this off season and I can't wait for some of the young dmen we have to get an opportunity. I also am looking forward to Gardiner and Rielly getting more responsibility. I am also happy we don't have 7 of 8 dmen being left handed.
And finally, to me, Reimer isn't anywhere close to Bernier as a Goalie. Not even in the same ballpark when it comes to ability.
But hey, I sound like a homer.

I'd be scared to trade even (frank)ing Franson to Montreal, guy will light us up. Why dont they keep their poop and the Leafs keep their own poop. |

So what's happening with the Leafs defence? Are they looking to bring in a top 2?
Phaneuf - Bieksa
Rielly - Polak
Gardiner - Granberg
What is happening????? |

It isn't a question of who did it or whether or not hindsight is 20/20. The fact is there is a steady stream of mistakes from this organization. Everything they touch turns to sh1t. It is not hard to imagine more ridiculous moves coming.

Exactly.
We are soon going to lead the league in participant ribbons.
But hey, they'll try hard.
Yeah let's follow Carlyle's way. It was working so well in Anaheim after Pronger and Niedermayer were gone and it isn't like Anaheim didn't get better after he left...
wait, what?

Well, I'm not sure what to say then.
I spose we should just criticize every move until we die, because we are not gonna see a SC in our lifetimes. |

Maybe hes right about the "compete" thing, or at least work ethic. Pretty sure Bozak and Kessel play Call of Duty all day instead of training. |

I honestly don't think I will. The only saving grace is neither will any other Canadian teams and I should out live Cox, Simmons and Myrtle. |

Is there anybody easier to hate than Mirtle.
Seriously, I could read Cox and Simmonds stuff all day if the other option was Mirtle. What a fcuking idiot that guy is.
