I hear you - the only thing RC likes more then a really good shot blocker is a physical banger. Carlyles' world = Polak > Gorgeous Gorges > Gunnar > Franson
- The Law

Problem is the guys at the top of this can't move the puck out for poop, we just get stuck in our zone more than we already are.

The good teams are getting mobile dman that can move the luck out of the zone. Guys like polak are good at what they do, but they can't get the puck out and thus end up doing that over and over again

I don't know why Leaf fans are so upset. Clearly the Leaf braintrust is working on implementing a foolproof master plan that will result in a dynasty not seen since the 1980's Oilers. They've laid all the necessary groundwork with their brilliant, original, and daring work at the draft this weekend. They started by adding another soft, undersized, defense-phobic, floater to their already impressive collection. Having sacrificed their own second round pick for another vital piece of the puzzle, MVPeter Holland, they used that time to plot the rest of their brilliant draft strategy. And they didnt disappoint-a Russian guy who was passed over in his first year of eligibility, 3 unknown Americans toiling in the USHL, and a bigger, slower version of their 1st pick. See you at the parade.

It is not that I think he is a bad player, but giving up your only secondary scoring option is not a good idea especially since the UFA market in that department sucks or a massive overpayment.

“Last year was a funny year for him. He came over late, started in Indiana because he didn’t get drafted in the CHL. He really wanted to play in the CHL and that didn’t happen, so he went and played in Indiana. In February he went to play in the Four Nations tournament and he hurt his knee and he didn’t come back. There was all sorts of rumours and all of these different things about how he didn’t want to play in Indiana. Well, he hurt himself and he couldn’t play so he just stayed at home. What he originally wanted to do was play in the CHL. He did get drafted by Kootenay, and he came over and played on the same day he arrived because he was late getting his VISA. They had a game that night in Red Deer and they said “no, no, you don’t have to play.” He said, ‘no, no, I want to play.’ To me it’s just another thing that tells you about the kid; so eager to get in the lineup.
