Leafs offered him the exact contract Montreal did, and he chose the Habs.

No, there have been no rumours they've talked to him yet, doesn't mean they still can't tomorrow. And frankly, any idiot should know Statsny is going to get PAID longterm. Are we in a position to do that right now? Do we throw all our eggs in Statsny as our fix?

If that's the case, we are in big trouble.

NMC should be tied into the teams results at the end of the year, I am not sure best way to make it "fair" for both players and teams but if my team finished last I should not have to suffer watching the same bad players for years because some idiot has a NMC

Have to be 7 years too for those that didn't play on the team the year before. Maybe 5+... I don't know.

Or maybe the amount of teams has to be cut in half if the player asks for the trade. So instead of getting 10 teams they can only pick 5 to not go to.

Look up the interview he did with Lansberg after he signed with the Habs. He said his friends and family all wanted him to sign here, but he chose Montreal. Said it's his favourite city.
