I just think this is garbage... Montreal and Toronto are not trading roster players... not happening... especially a guy like Lupul who when he is on can be lights out. Would come back to haunt us big time.

the way i framed the deal, not necessarily. 1) Toronto saves money. 2) they fill a glaring need. because as one-dimensional as Gorges is, you have no one like him on your roster: a stay at home guy who can play 18-20 minutes. as for Lupul, he's a one-dimensional injury-prone 50-point winger on a big contract. he doesn't have a ton of value. but Montreal needs 1-2 guys like him. i think the cap savings balances out the difference. if not, i can see a 4/5/6 draft pick going too.

as for Montreal saving money, you are right. but they need to fill top-6 holes anyway. so they're going to spend that $5 million anyway. this way, they get rid of Gorges' contract and replace it with Tinordi's.

again--what are you talking about? lights out? the guy averages 50 points for every fill season played. he's a an average second line winger.

Free Agency - Quincey, Niskanen, Ehrhoff and Stralman. I'm guessing he doesn't like the price they're asking so he's looking for a trade.

Is Gorges slow and poopty? I thought he was a decent top 4 guy …maybe similar to Gunnerson?

Was hoping for tj brennan to crack the lineup especially if able to trade franson..

They want 'grittier, better' defencemen yet when you have defencemen that can hold on to the puck and do something with it, you actually have to defend less.

sorry folks Kulimen is as good as gone Malkin wants him to play the wing with him in Pitt he is done in Toronto even though he was our best 2 way player on the team for the last few years. Moving Clarkson in the trade for Gorges may come back to bite us in the ass he will be much better this year guaranteed. Id send Lupal to the habs and Franson for Gorges and Prust if possible. then sign Erhoff to be Phaneufs partner at 3-3.5 million, snag Komarov at 1.5-2 for 2-3 year deal. Bolland needs to be signed but not at top line money for a 3rd line center. D'amigo , komarov and Prust would be a very good 4th line.
