You think its the Canadian $ plus taxes? or just the teams ? or both?
- PinkSock

its been 20 years since a Canadian team won the cup....the top players these days have not witnessed the hysteria and god like status you would get as a star player on a Canadian cup winning team. So the negative things like pressure, $, taxes, weather, privacy etc. push them to the States.

Connolly - Holland - Leivo, a young, cheap and effective line. Has potential too. But this is all moot, we forget who runs the bench.
- peddy-93

Interested in how Brown plays this year for the Marlies

Yeah, when I heard that on draft night I figured someone was blowing smoke. But he does play a similar style.
- iTOLDu

Yeah not saying he will be Kane, but style are earily similar. I was crossing my fingers and hoping they'd take Nylander, but was expecting Ritchie. Thank God I was wrong.

Yeah, no reason to get fired up or pissed. I don't see much changing here with Carlyle behind the bench.

I'm normally 100% on the side of players, but I have to say: a guy demanding a trade, and then nixing it due to his NTC is pretty douchy.

If you want out, you want out.

According to sources close to Spezza, the scenario went down a little differently than it’s being portrayed. In his exit interview with Murray, Spezza laid his cards on the table. He told Murray that if the Senators were intent on a quick rebuild and were in the acquisition mode in terms of bringing in top-end talent, he wanted to be a part of it. But if the plan was to tear down the roster and rebuild the team with young players and draft picks, it might be best for the organization to maximize his value now and that he would not stand in the way of a deal involving him, provided it was not to one of the 10 teams in his modified no-trade clause.

I think the team is being douche...making a trade to a team NOT ON HIS LIST.

I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on that, only thing that worries me is his size and skating. Hopefully Underhill can address the skating. He'll need a few years with the Marlies anyways.

I don't want a Connolly back on the team.

I don't care if they aren't related.

5x5 for bollard would be BRUTAL!!!

I would rather go with Bozak, Kadri and Holland.

Clarkson, Dion and Bolland at real bad contracts for the next 5 years will sink the Leafs

I call BS.

The Senators would never let their best player/captain twist in the wind like that and then claim otherwise to the media.

Like, never, never, ever.

I watched pretty much every Marlie playoff game and a pile of regular season games, Holland is a legit NHL 2-3 Center, hes got a 2 way game, bit of an edge, lethal wrister, can pass, play the body somewhat, I wouldnt even go after Bolland, Holland is a nice replacement and the money could be used elsewhere, I like Holland in my line up over Kadri thats how much of a fan I am ( or not of Kadris)

He will answer the boom or bust pick question for us. There were more than a few people belly-aching about not taking another safe pick. They got their wish.

1 more part...I don't think we would miss Gunner even if he had just retired and we got nothing.

they get the hysteria and god-like status on crappy team regardless. the thing is, hockey players, in general, do not want that kind of treatment. they don't want to be recognized, they don't want to be idolized. they want to be paid and left alone.
