yeah but Spezza really bent them over the table and gave them a good (frank)ing. it was going to be hard enough to get a return on him anyway. but now knowing that this guy will simply reject most deals unless it's to one of his 2-3 preferred destinations? they're (frank)ed. if you're Dallas... what are you gonna offer? you're going to offer a pile of poop.

Yep, he (frank)ed them good....

You should watch videos on Nylander, his offensive instincts, skating and puck skills are elite. He also has a very good wrist shot. The most offensively talented player in the draft.

I like the pick... high upside for sure

Love that people are still willing to give up on Kadri still. 50 point season last year and still was inconsistent.
- lotempio8119

well at least he's getting traded for a 23 yr old and an 18 yr old

Agreed. He should have accepted the Nashville deal IMHO. He was very well paid by the Sens and requested a trade to a smaller hockey market. No Canadian teams? Fine, but saying no to Nashville? GFY Spezza.
- Not_Yan

The guy only has 1 year left on his deal. Just go somewhere else, play it out, then pick your destination.

What happened to Del Zotto's game?

Reportedly going to be dealt or left unqualified by Preds.

Yay more players that can't move the puck out of the zone!
- peddy-93

Maybe if the forwards werent out at the red line it would be easier...been one of the biggest problems for years.

think it was Doug Wilson in SJ who said something like "i want players who want to play here, not just live here." thought it was interesting. we always talk about how some teams have such an easy time attracting the best players. but there's the flip side to it.

Boyle on a second pairing would be nice. Cant see him playing with Dion. Rielly and Gardiner will get a shot up there.

No.

I'd wait to actually see the guy play and wouldn't rely on a youtube compilation video.

But that's just me.

I just don't see Phaneuf having any trade value with the contract he has. As you can see with the Gagner move yesterday, it is very hard to move under-performing salaries unless you are taking on a similar contract in return or getting nothing in return. I think that with the length and price of his contract Phaneuf is close to immovable for the time being. But I have been surprised before.

Don't sign the NMC contracts...teams shouldn't complain when they don't waive.

Not saying cuz Leafs drafted him, but a lot of scouts said pre-draft he had the highest offensive upside.

Ritchie v Nylander rankings Mckenzie 6th/9th, Button 16th/9th, Pronman 18th/3rd, THN 9th/6th, McKeen's 9th/8th FC 7th/4th. Why the surprise?

Nylander ranked higher on 5/6
