I believe it was 5 legit offers he was crossing between. More teams had interest, some didn't have the cap space.

Oh exactly! Completely agree, like I've said before, I like phaneuf, but not in his current role.
My fear is his contract could hinder giving Rielly and gardiner the big money they deserve in several years (if they turn out how people are hoping they do)
