Someone explain this move to me from Colorado's perspective as shouldn't Montreal have been throwing in that 5th round pick?
- Maskdman3

I apparently have a misconception about multiple players in this league according to what has gone down last 2 weeks.

Someone explain this move to me from Colorado's perspective, other than getting rid of an extra year of Parenteau's salary?

Smells like the Hartnell/Hamburger trade

Love that crazy money spent on Lecavalier and Briere after they were bought out and a year later Briere is traded and Philly would love to go back in time

I think Tanner Glass will be a Ranger, former Nuck and fills a 4th line roll

On UFAs, Manny Malhotra said to be looking for a 2-year deal, thus will test FA market tomorrow.

Redemption tour back in NY as fourth line center, strong on faceoffs?

Wouldn't he cost just as much as Moore? So why not just sign Moore?

Wonder if they buy out Briere and pay Stastny? If not, that's a lot of money for someone who was invisible during regular season. He was a point-per-game player in the past, yet had just seven in 16 games this postseason.

In addition to Moore possibly. New York could play Moore on the wing and he has the flexibility to move up if needed, especially with Boyle likely gone.

Fixed, see below, happy, and really, please don't get in a grammar or syntax argument with me.

Ah so a Boyle replacement. That could work, I wonder how much money we could save. Are you weary of a 2 year deal though?

A few years ago when I was playing armchair GM on Capgeek I never thought I would see the 14-15 season start without Stralman, Prust, Boyle, and Cally all bc they were priced outside of the Rangers reach.

Yes, but it all depends on how much $ it is. Malhotra is 34, but due to his injuries, he has less tread on him than others. Plus, his ability in the faceoff dot is something NY desperately needs.

Much better. I was concerned at the 35+ Contract situation with him but it doesn't apply.

Just trolling, Jan.

Have him and Moore take all draws, I'd accept Manny as Boyle's replacement

Just coming off a one year 600K deal, so he would be cheap. But, are we better off with him than we are playing one of our system guys? Can't say I've paid too much attention to Manny over the last couple of years. Does he have anything left?

Apparently he does, And as long as you pay him as an 11-13 guy it allows him to be scratched and a young guy play if they are ready.
