This will surely send this blog into a frenzy but...suppose Stastny has a 6 year offer fox x amount...if go up the term with less AAV...maybe he's enticed by it. Ala the Gaborik contract from LA. That's the kinda thing Sather has to do...no doubt it'll hurt down the road but by that time we'll be due for a rebuild anyway and hank will be just about done so it wouldn't really matter. I think he can. But are you comfortable with Mcilrath playing the right side next to Moore? Obrein is a lefty. Even when Torts was here and now under AV the Rangers like their d-men to play their strong side.

I think if the Rangers go with Klein on the second pair, and full that third pairing spot with either a kid or a cheaper option, there will always be some vet available at the deadline for a middling pick if it doesn't work out. I think the center position will be harder to deal with in season, because there will always be a higher demand for centers than depth defensemen, IMO.

Hemsky is the lesser of the 3 evils there. But I'd rather have Miller take that spot on the RW and like Pete said for a solid 3rd line center.

He's also a LHS. Some think it's not a big deal with these guys playing their off side. The Rangers for years have made it that big of a deal.

I like the LH depth defensmen the Ranges have in the system. It might suck, but the Rangers really seem to like Dan Boyle. They may pay the 5 million to bring him in.
