If ottawa offers to take 2M of his salary, would you send them a package of brassard + skjei + 2nd? |

It is unlikely, but also not totally outside the realm of possibility. It would obviously require Brassard to go back the otherway, and the Sens to eat about $2 million (if not a little more) in cap space, but as far as real money goes, Spezza is only owed $4 million this year.
We know what the Sens were willing to accept for Spezza (the deal that Nashville gave Pittsburgh for Neil), so the trade price is not through the stratosphere.

Here is another alternative, which requires going cheap on D:
Kreider-Step-Nash
Zucc-Brassard-MSL
Hagelin-Legwand-Miller
Fast-Moore-Carcillo/Maholtra
Girardi/McDonagh
Fayne/Staal
Klein/Moore
Some 7th defensemen - Pete V
I more OK with this than letting everyone go, I would like to plug someone better than Fayne in their like maybe Anton Stralman, heard he's available

The over 30 and injury history he has scares me. Yeah he can rack up points, but doesn't always do it. His production varies for year to year. |

Stralman's available, but as soon as Ehrhoff and Niskanen sign all teams that didn't get those two focus on Stralman. Then things get crazy. |

I'm excited to see him play and would love a 19 yr old star in the making actually succeed in getting a spot but it's NY and I would rather not risk his future |

Carcillo made 825k this year. No chance he takes 125k pay cut. |

His injury history scares me for sure, but as far as points goes, hes very consistent. Outside his first 2 seasons in the league, the lowest ppg pace he's scored at has been .88. The next lowest I believe is .92. Hes a ppg player in his prime. |

That lineup doesn't work with Stralman, because he will get $4.5 million a year if he wants it. So, if you want Stralman, than the third line suffers. I think its one or the other, either a better defensive core with Stralman, or a deeper pool of forwards upfront. Hard to see both happening. |

After he attacked the ref? I doubt he will be getting a lot of contract offers.
But either way, if that's a problem just bring up Lindberg for 625k instead. I didn't put much into the healthy scratches, didn't think that would be the focal point of the analysis.

I'd much much rather overpay for Niskanen then overpay for Stralman. I don't get you guys lol. They're both UFAs..but because he's a ranger it has to be Stralman who we overpay for |

I dont really consider 31 years old to be old in the nhl. Plus he literally just turned 31 2 weeks ago. Id be open to it for the right price is all I'm saying. Gotta be proactive and aggressive over the next couple years why hank is still good. |

The ref thing was a blip on a very good season for him. Without him this team has zero edge, sandpaper or whatever you want call it. But he's not just a fighter. When he's right between the eye's he a good bottom 6 player. I would like the Rangers to keep him. |

I saw something both will get between 5-6, that was NHL network guys tho. Not sure how much knowledge those have. That's pretty close ranger tho |
