Stafford is the least wussified of the bunch?
- Michael Pachla

Stafford has been the punching bag of Sabres fans pretty much since he got here. Most of it just I will add. However he keeps going to work and I really think he made strides last year (not something we should have to talk about someone his age but regardless). I guess I liked his character a lot last year and if he can start the season producing like he finished the year I will be okay with him on the roster even though he is probably dealt at the deadline.

on that I agree...they were closing a loophole that big money teams took advantage of...

and...should've grandfathered those ehrhoff contracts in

- Michael Pachla

Exactly, but they couldn't do that without looking foolish for instituting the New Jersey punishment, which was equally as awful. I said it when it was levied and I still say it now. The league had no right to punish New Jersey for taking advantage of a gaping hole the league left in its policies in 2005.

We could be looking at the biggest tank job in the history of sports. I would love to see them change the lottery format this year and give you people what you deserve

a draft lottery win with the islanders pick?

What are you talking about? I said Murray has no track record as a decision maker? Of course he's a decision maker now, he was just hired to be one. That doesn't automatically make him a good or a bad decision maker. We won't know if this ended up being a good decision or a bad decision for a while.

You just love throwing any negative statement you can about anyone. Btw Ehrhoff was miserable at the start of last year during training camp, but blame Nolan for that too while you're at it.

As opposed to Snow giving the Isle what it deserves? I honestly only care if Buffalo wins 3 games all season and thats 12/27, 2/8, and 4/4.

You do realize that trading your players for picks isn't a new thing, right?

Make sure you go back and revoke the Penguins cups they won with Lemieux

am of the opinion that he started declining when drury left...the "leaders" on the team after that really had an adverse affect on him

It sounds like Ehrhoff's issue was that he didn't care for Nolan. It's probably why I couldn't get too upset at him, because I don't care for him either.
- buffalofan19

It sounds to me more like he wasn't into a rebuild.

Regardless.. my main issue with the situation isn't that he's out, but rather that we didn't recoup any of our asset in the transaction.

look at staff the first two years he was a sabre

look at staff once he got paid for many years

different player, instead of taking the next step, he took shifts and games off

the first few years he showed signs of being a consistent 30 goal scorer, a james neal type player

he is a fringe second liner player at best on a descent team and hardly ever a difference maker

sabres have assets out the yin-yang...in their situation maybe a mid-level prospect and a second rounder?...not sure buffalo needs any more of that

one reason why mike grier should have never left the sabres to go to the sharks

darcy did things that looked good on paper, instead of build a professional team in the locker room

If I don't like a certain move a team or an executive made, I say it. If I do, I state that as well. I also stated that I blame the league and its retroactively instituting a recapture rule more than I blame Murray and the Sabres. However, that doesn't mean that I have to state that this was handled perfectly. The fact is that they let a decent asset walk away for nothing.

Like I said, most of us loved the Ehrhoff move when it was made. We didn't know it turned out to cause problems until 3 years later. That's the same thing with any move Murray makes.

what murray does with Stafford will shine a light on the type of player they project him to be...

personally, I think he's starting to become the type of power forward that they envisioned...

just kinda got sidetracked the last six or seven years
