What i've learned is, everyone has there own version and opinion of a rebuild and if it doesn't agree with someone elses, that make's you wrong?

This blog is about opinions and that's it, just because you don't agree with some doesn't make you right or wrong or the other person right or wrong.

- SABRES 89

I think folks have different definitions of what constitutes a rebuild, but in practice, if done properly (in hockey) it is pretty cut and dry. Drafting is what it is, development is what it is, and losing is what it is.

When opinion turns to conjecture, that's when people get feisty. Myself included, admittedly.

Just my thoughts. I don't post much.
Murray has been able to talk with UFA's for a bit now.
Ehrhoff is a shell of his former self not to mention the guy was half assing his play better than 50% of last season.
I would pretty much rest assured that Murray definitely has someone coming via free agency July 1st to fill the void left by the "Hoff".
Even on this team , the"Hoff" is not a big loss whatsoever but I do see your points about why we couldn't at least get a 2nd rounder or even a 3rd for him.
Murray's plan will soon come into focus.
And I would agree I think Myers needs to stay now.

How are you and the family my friend? Don't see you around often. Hope all is well.

I've learned a lot these past few days. There are quite a few people out there who don't know how rebuilds work.

My fellow Sabres fans are so confused these days. They want to rebuild through the draft but don't want to wait for it. But they don't want to overpay for free agents either because that'll handcuff our rebuild...that they don't want to wait for.

And it just goes 'round and 'round and 'round...

This isn't the first time the NHL has tweaked its lottery system. And it's not anywhere near the first time either lottery league team (the other being the NBA, who is most likely going to tweak it again soon as well) has done it.

It's rules like putting in this recapture penalty retroactively that make the NHL a "garage league" as Mario Lemieux likes to put it.

The lottery system is stupid to begin with. It's all so they can have one more TV ratings moment. Real leagues let the teams draft in the order in which they finished.

The NFL is by far the most successful pro sports league and that is how they do it.

Reports were that Murray wanted a Ryan Kesler type return and no one would bite.

100% agree.. NFL's draft system hasn't failed.. For the most part.. there are exceptions with teams like Indi having a franchise QB him getting hurt them tanking and landing another franchiser that year. Also teams like the Bills who half heartedly try to be good and never get the chance at a solid franchise player but overall I'd say its a fair system that creates balance in the league. MLB draft is a crapshoot IMO because you really never know if the players turn out to be good but yeah NFL draft is still the model of success except how they pimp it out too much.
