Why wouldn't you trade him?
His our best NHL caliber player. He's on a reasonable contract. He should have been flipped for a prospect/pick. Toronto or Philly would be all over him. |

Ehrhoff seems like a great fit for Detroit too, who have lacked a quarterback on the blueliner sine Lidstrom retired.
Really hard to believe we couldn't even get a 2nd rd pick for this guy. Or at least wait till the trade deadline..? |

Do they get a one year recapture penalty this year even though it's a compliance buyout, thus cap floor is all but hit?
