Rielly playing an extra 5 mins per game will make them a lot more mobile.

Polak has decent skating, probably our physically strongest guy, solid defensive guy, not much offense, not really an enforcer, doesn't get into many scraps although has unloaded on a couple guys when he does. Probably could handle second pairing duties if he has someone on the left who is more offensive minded. Buried in St. Louis thanks to also having Petro and Shatty on the right.

Gunnarsson is better than Polak imo. I don't like this move. I think Gunnar got a bad rap in Toronto. I think if anyone was adding a 4th, it should have been STL.

Not to say that Polak is bad, or that the whole thing is a make or break trade. I just can see the need for such a deal.

Gunnarsson's coming off of hip surgery, Polak's more physical, a bit cheaper cap-wise, and a RH shot, but slower than Gunnar. It's a deal that works for both teams.

He was our fastest guy skating backwards a couple years ago when they had a race during training camp, though that was before acquiring JBo. I wouldn't call Polak slow though.
