Brodeur is the sexy name. Myers is only 24, and is 6'8.

And it seems like no one is mentioining Myers

- RogerRoeper

You've been mentioning his name every day for 3 weeks. He isn't that good, he might turn out to be as good as Chara eventually, but keep in mind Chara worked his ass off to get as good as he is and there's no guarantee that Myers will. Just because they are both tall doesn't mean they are the same player.

I think Franson could be back but his trade value might be high enough to get decent return. Everyone whining about gunnarsson trade is hard to listen to. First, everyone is flipping out because gardiner might be traded. This deal makes room for him and rielly to play more significant role. Also, I do like having the presence of polak on the back end, the guy really sticks up for his teammates.

...still pumped we got Nylander at 8. Draft went as well as I hoped.

- wendel13

Polak has better mobility than guys on here think. He's a wiener to play against as well.

For the Gunnarson Polak trade; I don't think it's an impactful trade in most ways, I get that we wanted the right shot, but I still think we gave up the better player overall. I'd say Polak is a more ruggid Gunnarson who make more mistakes defensively but will clear someone from in front of the net.

I just don't get the Myers love , I'd trade for him if he was cheap enougn because he has decent potential but is a huge liability at this point.

Gunnarson should not have been playing the minutes he was, he was very similar statistically to Georges who was also brought up in trade rumours, the only issue I had with Gunnarson is he was a huge wussy so overall he had to go.

I agree. I am getting a little tired of the extreme cynicism every move is scrutinized with. People here freaking out probably haven't watched 5 St. Louis games in the last two years. Gunnarsson is a good player, but we couldn't have his money allocated there with two studs in gardiner and rielly. The same money re assigned to a different need which allows us to address other needs with that money. Resign or trade Franson, hopefully bring back komarov and get some youth in the bottom two lines.

Money probably didn't have a heck of a lot to do with it, both have relatively low terms and cap hits.

Maybe not but it wasn't working. Not saying it was gunners fault but we needed to move someone. I hope this means gardiner or someone else will be getting minutes with phaneuf next year. Need to drive the play more with ph9 to optimize his skills

Gunner is a LH shot, Polak shoots right. I bet that had a lot to do with it.

It's pretty funny how most bruins fans seem happy with their pick, while leafs fans are pretty split.

Nylander actually played on the same team as the bruins top choice

Pastrnak 2013-14 Sodertalje SK Swe-1 36 8 16 24

Nylander 2013-14 Sodertalje SK Swe-1 17 11 8 19

I think Nylander is gonna turn into a top line player, he had an inconsistent year, but he is a top 5 talent

Probably due to the fact they chose around 25 and we chose 8. I'm with you I think we have got our selves a high end caliber guy here.

Gunnar's been playing with bum hip for the last couple of years too. Set him back. He did have successful surgery, but maybe the Leafs brass know something we don't know.

Similar numbers.... Too bad they were drafted 17 draft positions apart.
