I think the Canucks got a steal with McCann and the Kings got a steal with McKeown. It's a shame the Leafs didn't have their 2nd round pick. Would have been nice to steal McKeown at 38th.

Its been a long time since the Leafs drafted a forward that was good enough to crack the lineup out of training camp. I can't even think of one.

Gunnarsson has been a top four, at times top two, defenceman for the Leafs in what most would consider a weak defensive system. Polak has been a bottom pairing defenceman for the Blues in what most would consider a strong defensive system. Outside of being a right handed shot, I don't think Polak can handle the spot Gunnarsson has tried to fill the past few years while Gunnarsson is probably going to look amazing in St. Louis when given a more comfortable role.

Because he's Swedish he can play in the AHL, or the NHL, or they can send him back to Swedish Elite League. I bet they put him on the Marlies. I suppose he won't have a huge adjustment to North American rinks, because he played in NA until a few years ago.
