Kulemin yes ,Erhoff no . Think Kulemin could really shine with malkin(or Crosby for that matter ) I saw a few posts ago someone said Neal had no skills except his release , disagree ,he had tons of skill and one of the best releases in the game , that being said he was a complete a-hole, and I think Malkin will be more even keel without him on the line.

If we can dump Scuds, I would sign Ehrhoff the next day. But maybe I'm the only one. He's a good player.

todays coverage reports that MAF and Martin wont be looking at extensions this offseason... though MAF possibly during the season. Supposedly MArtin wants to test the market next season. This is good. Lets see if the kids make martin, or a martin type vet obsolete. MAF gets to prove himself in a contract year... if he doesn't really really wow than, as gunner as written many times, alternative goalies are generally availabe in FA or trade... plus gives JArry another year of hopefully good development. article also said that it seems like pens are interested in extending MAF in the season sorry haters

With the cap being what it is and teams like the B's being over it with a bevy of RFA's could this be the year that we see a lot of offer sheets go out to guys like Smith, Krug, and even Sutter?
- Incredible Malk

could be a real benifit if sutter is offered. it would be at least a second coming back wouldn't it? if he is close to 4 mil than a second rounder and a 2-3 mil FA would be in the pens best interest

you can't dump scuds, people keep sayin it and it is as close to impossible as can be. and while erhoff wouldn't be terrible, pens cant spend that money on d-men this year... and there will be ehrhoffs every FA year to go after.

That's kind of what I was saying earlier. But they are very good friends. And more importantly, isolated from all those short sample sizes, he's just a good 2 way player. And he would be a welcome addition to the team....even if he wasn't on Geno's line.

I mean it's not Pee Wee's anymore, I don't really care if players are friends or not, and to be honest I would hope they're not bros. 2 dudes in their 20's making millions, single, could spell for a huge off ice distraction. I don't know much about kulemon but Im not a fan of Russian players, I hear of their on ice chemistry, but show me a legit time when it mattered.

Most of the team is guys in their 20's making millions. We just got rid of one of the biggest bros on the team in James Neal, Kulimen isn't even close to those guys. The only thing that matters is his style plays well with Malkin's, he crashes the net, and he is a bigger player. He can hold his own on this team and will be a cheaper UFA to acquire.

Even if they aren't friends who's offering him a top 6 role with a world class center? He will be here

Ehrhoff is Martin 2.0. I'd sign him if the money was right and we could get rid of Scuderi.

Fun fact:

Philadelphia's 1st round pick Travis Sanheim fav. team and player: Penguins and Crosby.

Kasperi Kapanen fav. team and player: Flyers and Ovechkin

Geno will be a happy customer with Kulemin coming in.

Noticed that during the draft. I'm sure his favorite team is now the Pens, but I wonder how that plays out in a young kids head. He had to have hated the Pens a few years ago in the playoffs!

Yeah. When I saw where the Sabres were in cap space, I thought for a minute that we could ship him to Buffalo. But the length of his deal nixes that if I'm Murray. Why bring in a contract and down-trending player when the team will be competitive in a couple years?

That being said I do think - contrary to most everyone - that Scuds will be a better player this year with the new system.

Just thinking about that. We don'thave many guys on the team that are great stickhandlers (aside from 87 and 71). Bennett and stempniak are the onlyone that come to mind...maybe JJ but he's gone.

i just hope everything is alright with crosby. i figured that right when the season was done we would hear about some injury he was battling through. but we didnt. hopefully he was just tired from always seeing the best of the other team.

malkin would be happy with or without kumelin. defintely happier with a russian buddy, but i dont think that means that we need to overpay for kumelin.

martin wantin to test free agency make no sense to me. why would he want to leave a franchise in his late 30's.....as long as he stays this year i have no problem with it. see how the kids do then make a game plan for next year

i gotta a feeling this year is gonna be a whole lot of run and gun. new system, new young defense, new coach that like the up tempo style, new guys tryin to prove them selves. might be a stressful yet fun season

Kulemin has 23 goals in his last 188 games. Unless he accepts third line money, it would be another middling acquisition that demonstrates poor asset managment.
