Well Weiss is not good, but I don't see all the hate on Franzen. He's a second liner with a very low cap hit
- digitalbath

He's old though. Doesn't fit with the rebuild

Scott can go, what do you think if they sign Shawn Thornton.

4th line of Thornton Larssen Delsauiurs/Kaleta......

Top line

Ennis Hodgson Staff

Third line

Stewart Girgensons Foligno

Second line

I have no idea!

Sure but hopefully they can sign those.

By the time were good Franzen will be. 36-37 and we will have traded 57 for nothing

The rebuild is pretty much over…at some point you need to start playing the prospects and winning

Not even close, even if you buy the premise that Reinhart will 100% be a superstar you still have to question whether the defense has a legitimate #1 and even if that part is true, you still have to allow for growth and development, picks don't turn into stars overnight.

By all indications (including tid bits from Murray and other analysts) this team is all in for next years draft so buckle up it's going to get worse before it gets better.

What if the team is actually pretty completive and good? Good enough to not need a generational talent?

I know that is crazy to say, but...

I want to win now as much as you do but the rebuild isn't fully over yet because most of our wingers and d aren't fully ready for the NHL yet..

McCabe
Zadorov
Armia
Compher
Baptiste
Carrier
Fasching

They all in various degrees wont be ready to be full time contributors for at least next season. When at least half of them are playing a full season which is likely 2015-2016 plus guys like Reinhart and Risto who will be ready before that then we will start winning I think.

Sabres got Reinhart. That is their superstar. I don't want to watch another season like last year.

McDavid might be Crosby, but he won't be Gtretzky. I can live with that. Crosby has one cup. And many players not named Crosby have more.

Lets start winning now...

- rmiethaner

There was, most likely, no superstar in this draft. The rebuild reaches its climax after next year's draft and the Sabres get McDavid or Eichel along with another solid draft. Let's start winning in 2015-1016.

I agree, how much longer and how may more picks and prospects do you actually need? It's time to start getting this in the right direction and it should start next season.

Well... You look at L.A they only had 1 pick I think in the top 5 in the past 20 or so years so your theory could be right.. As long as one of our three picks is in the top 5 I'll be happy I want to be way more like 1,000 times more competitive then last year. Maybe like how the Flames were this year then with the lotto odds down for 1st maybe we actually get lucky for once and win the lotto?

Doesn't even have to be those two specifically. With 3 smart picks in a draft that deep, they will be set just need to let them develop.

They are still short on elite talent and there are still question marks about who can be a #1 d-man for this team.

The depth is there, and after the 2015 draft it will just be a matter of when not if.

I can't imagine anyone would want to stay in Buffalo if you're a team that is aiming to be so bad it gets McDavid

I hate that people are saying there's no superstar in this draft that's a load of crap no one knows... The Kings don't have any offensive superstars... Kopitar I guess but I think Reinhart could easily be as good as him in terms of point production.. Crosby's and Ovi's don't win you cups.

It's closer to fact than opinion, those who are patient in building a team find long term sustained success. (La, Chicago and now Columbus potentially)

Those who are trigger happy and want a 1 year rebuild turn into the Leafs and Sens, and that brief period where Calgary thought Dennis Wideman was a good idea
