A year or two ago we were questioning McNeil's desire. He sure seemed to find his way this past year.

The whole draft is made up of players who all need time to develop. There even questions as to whether Ekblad is NHL ready right now.

So....

Pulling Matt Carey and Trevor Van Riemsdyk out of nowhere a couple months ago is better than most of the players being drafted tonight who's names you won't remember on Monday.

Saad had a bad year before his draft too (granted that was partially due to injury). Who knows how they'll turn out until they're in the big show.

Right? The Hawks are deep and this draft isn't going to have many NHL ready players outside the top 5-6 unless they're being drafted by shallow teams.

with all due and humility and respect...I know nothing about drafting highschool kids...but Bowman traded up to get this kid and I only saw 1 mock draft that had him in the 1st round and that was around 26.

Curious what he sees in this kid that no one else seems to have seen.

A lot of the so called experts are high on Schmaltz. Who knows. His is rated pretty highly. He set some records in a tournament that has seen some good players go through. Time will tell.
