>I like your idea of Sharp+ to Uncle Dale
>Get a young guy with reasonable $ to play C or Spezza

Tallon has a bigger dilemma than most think - 1) he has no signed defenceman other than Campbell and 2) his leading scorer last season had 38 freaking points and 3) the new owners look like they have previously outfitted people that didn't get the job done for them with cement shoes.

If Stan came calling with Sharpy, Leddy and Rozsival thats a big time offer for the #1 pick and something else, maybe not Gudbranson.

What would it be then? I got into a discussion with someone who claimed the cap was going up 14 million over next two years. I laughed, asked for evidence, which he was unable to supply and the cap results today were WORSE than even I thought.

You sign 19 and 88 to those high of salaries with THE HOPES of a cap increase...you do so at your own peril. Though I suppose if things got really brutal Kane at 12 mill could easily be traded to Buffalo so we could put someone on our 4th line other than B league beer leaguers.

- kwolf68

I'm not claiming it'll be anything - it just won't be $69m when their contracts hit unless the league makes no money next year, which isn't possible since the new TV deal will increase it at least some. I assume that person thought $14m in 2 years because it was originally projected for $7m increase this year. That obviously didn't happen but to be fair to whoever that was, many thought it would/could happen.

Either way, $69m is for this year, so it's reasonable to assume it'll be more than that in 2015-2016. How much, no one really knows for sure.

And again, Kane isn't going to take $12m, it'll be lower. But feel free to continue to ignore this information because it doesn't fit your hysterical view of the Hawks cap situation.

I think it was me and I showed you how:

$64 last year to $71 this year (the number the league projected) - then the new TV money kicks in and the cap goes up 10% to $78.

That's $14MM in two years.

If you are talking about me (and we did have this conversation) don't say I didn't provide evidence.

That is a good package. Dale is now in the driver's seat due to the cap number.

Also, will Bowman make that offer? JJ reported only Rosi. Big jump from him to Leddy for Stan. I would do that and add more for the cap space and the pick.

Sometimes you have to overpay.

- tredbrta

It would free up $8.60 million in cap space and give the Hawks an opportunity to draft a 2C.

If it works put that way, then have to lose more of the core (Keith? Seabrook?), consider the next three or four years to be transitional waiting for the cap to go up and hope a Rockford develops replacements.

Which means maybe (MAYBE) it's best to do nothing (except get under the cap) this summer, hope Shaw/TT/a cheap retread can handle the two open center slots, hope Morin and Versteeg come around, and see what develops.

There's been so much idiocy spewed, you'd be better off turning your computer off now. Go enjoy your Friday night doing something else. Go now, before you get sucked into the moron vortex.

Tallon sure sounds like he is going to trade the #1 and he needs a stud right wing.
