This sucks bad.

Yep...Hawks needed that to be as close to 71 as possible.

Not sure if they were misled by the league or whatever, but either way they are OVER and HAVE to deal.

At least Sharp, and maybe Oduya.

Need to clear some room.

Bye, Bye Stasny. Bye Bye #2 center.

Hello 1-2 depth player, maybe 2 of them and maybe a return of THE brookbank.

Gudbranson not for sale.

Anytime anyone wants to suggest Gudbranson as a trade target and available, just ask what it would take for you to trade Seabrook. That is how the panthers see their guy.

- TrueGrit

That is what JJ reported the offer was... maybe just an opening package? Open big and then add and subtract to end up with what they want. Could be they just want Sharp gone and the number 1 back?

- Return of the Roar

Did the God of Parity mandate Handzuis play 2C all last year? IF not, we can not blame him for that.

Rocky should tell Bettman - F you, we are going to be over. What are you going to do, cancel all our games? Try it!

I still like Jordan Staal and Cam Ward for Sharp, Leddy and Crawford even though it won't happen.

Thunder Bay connection with Sharp and the Staals.

Tallon has 2 signed defenceman (Campbell and Jovocop) and 3 RFA's - Olsen, Kulikov and Gudbranson. It's almost like he has to take Ekblad.

- RickJ

Why would you want a goalie that is $300k more than Crawford with that kind of injury history who hasn't had a decent season in like 3 years? I'd never want him in a trade. J.Staal would be nice though.

Not sure what's so funny? Jettison Kesler, pay Ballard, Luongo, Totrarella and Gillis not to be part of the team, the 'brothers' locked up in long term deals .....

Growth factor was at $68M,new TV money brought in a year early would raise it to $70M so both parties split the difference at $69M. #TSN

How is the Cap so low? Several outdoor games, new TV deal... WTF.
- CBHawks88

Canadian dollar is weaker now than when the new TV deal was originally set, so that lowers the impact it has on profits when converted to USD.

Fair enough, did not see that. People have to remember, Sharp has to fit his salary in elsewhere, so much like Kesler, not as simple as one might think, as far as options go.

Can't blame Uncle Dale this time.........

Well this just took the wind out of the "wait and see" sails. Baring multiple deals to free up HUGE money the 2c dream is over. Now it's just a matter of signing what you hope to be CHEAP EFFECTIVE depth guys and praying you core can continue to make up for the holes this team continues to has.

So yeah....cap hell and odds are they will be worse on paper then the team that finished against LA.

Stanley Bowman, everyone.......

Or Versteeg. Both those guys need to go. Replace Rosy with a kid and Versteeg has already been replaced (Morin). that gets us under the cap with a few nickels to spare.

And no 10th pick for the Nucks.

Kesler gets you a 24 year old d man regressing for 2 years, a 26 year old who has been a "promising prospect" for 4 years, and picks in a crap draft...

Torts and Gillis being gone is a bad thing? ( you do realize their salaries do not effect the cap right?)

Sure the return on Kes wasn't good, but it wasn't bad!

Sure as hell beats Kruger
