the world is not ending.....

there are other centers in the NHL.....

I would be happy with any of the following:

Stastny
Spezza
Turris

oh yeah...and some kid named Nielsen that I just heard about on the isle....

THERE ARE OPTIONS.....

I can't get enough of the circular thinking around these parts.

If the Hawks count on TT to be anything special they are idiots because he hasn't played in the NHL yet and is a complete unknown at this point. However, the Hawks could have completely trumped that package Anaheim sent Vancouver by including this prospect the Hawks shouldn't count on even though Anaheim sent a guy coming off a 60 point season with room to grow?

Which one is it? If TT is such an unknown the Hawks are idiots for counting on why would Vancouver have preferred him over Bonino?

Or you could look at it like had we made a move for a #2C, we would likely be talking about chasing a 3-peat.

This should make Spezza cheaper. Benning is channeling his inner Gillis
- Quicky72

If the cap is $68 we're not getting Spezza either.

To answer your question about the cap and losing that guy or this guy....maybe he shouldnt' have overpaid Bickell and Crawford last summer? How about that?

Saad, Sharp are more important to this team then both. ON Bowman for not having a quality prospect to take over for Crawford or signing a stop gap veteran goalie.

- SteveRain

1) Do you realize how long it takes to develop a quality minor league goalie???

2) Hi my name is Marty Turco. Enough said.

Anaheim essentially swapping Bonino for Kesler is only a minor upgrade(Bonino very underrated, he was easily the Ducks 2nd best center). And yet so many already are taking shots at Bowman and acting as if this move puts the Ducks on the same level as LA or Chicago...gimme a break.

Please stop the drama.

The Hawks have won 2 Cups in four years, and came one incredibly lucky two bounce puck from winning another one.

They aren't the Penguins. They will address the second line center at some point in the next few days. But they aren't going to destroy their future to do so, and still be in contention to win a Cup. Novel concept, eh?

- CaptainBlackhawk

It's not drama. I sat and cringed every time we had defensive zone draw in the WCF because I knew we wouldn't win it. I don't see how this team gets better in that respect.

I'll feel better if we find someone who can hold their own against the 2C's that we will face night in and night out.

And you whine about people whining. It's a hockey forum with passionate fans, many of who wanted Kesler to man L2-C. It will die down soon enough and we can get back to talking about what you deem appropriate.
- kwolf68

It gets old, that's all I'm saying. I would've liked Kesler on the Hawks as much as anyone else but it didn't happen. Time to move on. The season doesn't start tomorrow. Jesus Christ.

Kesler would have been a perfect fit and a team that kicked our ass all year added him for scrap parts .

Its not panic time simply because the Hawks could dump Sharp and make a run at Stastny or Aquire Spezza ( Who Al thinks makes more sense for the Hawks anyway )

We'll see.

- mrpaulish

Like I said: A corresponding move will be made, this team will get a second line center.. they just weren't going to overpay in terms of players dealt or the destruction of their cap to get an injury prone Kesslah.

You are a huge trade sharp advocate yet now he's an important part of the team? Which one is it?

The armchair GMing going on here is unreal. The truth is that none of you actually know what's going on behind closed doors with relation to trades/signings/etc. Rumors are just that...rumors.

It's people who have just started watching hockey who really have no grasp on how the game is played or how the salary cap actually works.

Stanley has a tough job. Let's see how this shakes out after the weekend. If he gets someone to play with Kane then it should work out. I'm the one who always says I want the next Kesler or whoever. Not ready to throw Stan under the bus. Yet.
- 6628

I'll channel my anger.....NOW, but by Wednesday norning, we better see some signs of life.

What has set me into rage mode is all along it was 50-50 and Bowman lost out. It's that simple. For a guy who is Toews light, and would have given you 2 top centers who play COMPLETE 200 ft games.

Spezza wouldn't know his own end if he fell of f the bench and landed on his @ss in the zone.

Stasny wants at least 6.6 and somebody may throw HUGE money at him...and he may take less to go home to STL.

So now you are back to trading.....and I wish them luck at that.
