If Kruger goes and Kesler arrives, the Hawks still only have two real centers, right?
- mohel

Yes - and - if there isn't a $5MM player going out (Sharp), Leddy /Oduya have to go - which creates hole(s) on defense.

If this is the move (Kruger and TT), several more moves would have to be coming.

Maybe TT isn't included and they're counting on him for one of the center positions.

If they get Kesler, I don't see how they keep Sharp.
- Ogilthorpe2

Moving a combination of Leddy and Rozy or Leddy and Oduya would get them 5 to 5.8mil in cap space but they weaken their D if they move 2 of those guys in order to keep Sharp. Well maybe not Rozy so much. I don't think Bowman would be considering it but then we read JJ latest update and his sources say all three of them are being shopped.

I believe this is correct.

How do you know this, were you told by an unnamed source or an agent?

JJ- is Stan interested in Fayne, especially if Roszival goes?

I don't either without gutting the D...and that's not consistent with the Hawks' philosophy

Significant $ will have to go. I'd rather have one hole to plug than two, or three.
- Ogilthorpe2

Trade Sharp for a 3 or 4C and prospects/picks, after you get Kesler.

What like Kesler's agent told the world Kesler didn't ask for a trade after 'sources' said he had asked?
- paulr

lol exactly like that,,

The draft is going to be great!
- EnzoD

People say that about the draft every year, and the start of a Free Agency, and the Trade Deadline...usually doesn't live up to the hype.

Agreed. There's too much good stuff on the site to spend time on those matters.

If we really all had the keys to the car, we'd mangle it in short order

So who are our centers?
19, Kesler, Shaw?...

- resqmed99

19, kesler, Danault/Regin, Smith/McClement? JJ said hawks may like McClement and Fiddler( #3/4)?

I will be disappointed if they don't trade Sharp. He can bring back a really good return for now and the future.

Toews and Kesler can handle 20 mins a night during the playoffs anyways. Both play in literally all situations.

All three being shopped doesn't necessarily mean all three would be traded. Could be a large shuffling of the deck. Or not.

I think the involvement of a third team to get Vancouver a top 5 pick is an entirely doable strategy. If Bowman can get that done he will get probably get Kesler. If he Bowman pulls that off he deserves a 5 star GM rating.
- spatso

If Bowman pulls it off AND PLUGS ANY HOLES CREATED, so the Hawks can roll four lines and three pairings - then he's a 5-star GM.

This could get complicated.

Could Sharp's agent have been right and they are not shopping him?
- jhawk159

You don't blast away as Sharp's agent did yesterday in quoting the GM and then have the reverse happen....making them both look like idiots.

Makes more sense to get cap relief with players that don't have NMC/NTC. I suspect if Sharp was being shopped we would be hearing all these rumors of his team wish list....and we have heard nothing about that.

Expect the the Sharp trade soap opera next year.

Fiddler wouldn't be a bad add, if the numbers could work

>Still think the number for #19 & #88 is 8/$9.375 per ($75 million total)
>Am convinced SBow has been in contact with just about every team trying to see what they need and what his options are
>Also believe the Hawks learned their lesson about gloating after a big win on the Leddy trade
>You can be the smartest GM in the world, but if no one will trade with you, you become useless
>Enough time has passed since the gloating and Uncle Dale being shown the door -- think the climate is right for some big-time dealing by the Hawks
>Also think the Hawks may wind up being the most active team this offseason -- if they are -- it should be good for we fans

More worried about filling PK time. Lose 16&26 = PK hole.
