can't believe they were able to cut raanta's AAV from $1.4 last year to $750k. that's some nice work by SB
- Sconnie

I wonder if there might be abonus for games played with Raanta. It seems very low

Really surprised but once again I keep hearing Max Pacioretty's name out there as available when talking to agents and scouts. #mtlhockey

Seriously, I would be fine sending Sharp to MTL for Pacioretty

No bonuses except for Entry Level deals and deals for 35 and older crowd.

Raanta was given security (2 years/one-way deal) for less value. He wanted to stay here. Simple as that. Good move on Stanley's part

Wouldn't really address our 2C problem just acquiring another wing, but it would drop the cap hit by 1.9. If we're dealing with MTL, I want Plekanec

Even though I really want kesler I'm starting to lean towards spezza. Not as physical but it would take less to get him. Then we can trade sharp for a good young player or 2. I still don't know why they won't trade TT? Sure he looks good but you never know. Kesler is proven. Plus you get some good players for sharp

yea, the guy is locked in at 4.5 until 2018-19 and just potted 39 goals, who wouldnt want that?

Lets hold on to the 32 year old who just scored 34 goals at a 5.9 cap hit

I fell like Kesler is a better fit, but the bonus to Spezza is only 1 year left on his contract, so when the bigger deals for 88 and 19 kick in, we aren't on the hook for him anymore, provided TT doesn't get moved and can develop into a 2C in the next season. That is a lot of "ifs" though.

Max P > fruture than Sharp. ...

MTL wouldnt do that straight up . They might do Sharp Leddy for Max P. This would provide cap relief for the Hawks . Not sure this is the deal though

Yes it is .

The Hawks are loaded at wing. LOADED.

But anyways Vancouver doesnt want Sharp for Kesler straight up . Sharp is older. Vancouver wants to go young .

Between Kesler and Spezza, I like Kesler better. Will see what happens. If they can do it without moving TT, great. I think the prospect I'd like to see not included in a deal is McNeil.

He may not be ready for the big club this season but at some point. Maybe I like the idea that he's not 6'2" but only 145 lbs like some of the prospects.

Note - 145 lbs is meant to be red fonted but didn't feel like doing it.

last year he had 2 way deal...i suspect this is 1 way...if he goes to Rcf at all he still gets the big $$...prob why he took a little less
- bogiedoc

And he should go to Rockford - if they have any sense that he is a Crawford replacement at some point (and you need your starting goalie's replacement somewhere in the system), he needs to play and correct his problems.

You guys who dont want to move Sharp need to get a grip and let go of 2005-2013 SHARP.

Think about what value the Hawks could get for Sharp today that helps the Hawks moving forward.

All very attractive.

I just don't like the way he plays. I've seen him a few games. It's just something about it.

We'll see how he does this year if he will still be 4th in scoring.

Moot argument anyway because if Bergevin gives him up for Sharp that'd be a loser for them. They're going to lose Bourque and I'm not so sure their system is all that hot...

If you have ESPN Insider, good article from Craig Custance here:

http://insider.espn.go.co...r_Custance_KaneToewsDeals

The interesting point from the piece:

According to one source close to Kane and Toews, they realize money needs to be left on the table in order to keep a championship team in Chicago, and they’re willing to do it.

Yeah adding a real #2 center is an upgrade especially with that Saad-kesler-kane line scoring a lot to help offset sharp's loss, but I still wouldn't include sharp in any deal to get kesler. I would only move him in a 2nd deal to recapture lost youth. Doesn't sound like that is the plan, though
