If they handled these extensions like Kruger's we should know the numbers in 2 weeks.

I was hoping for 3 years for Smith, but I'll take 2.

Not that we already didn't know it but signing Smith and Raanta definitely means there will be some Hawks on the move this weekend. I'm expecting 4 of these 6 guys not back with the Hawks next year (Rosy, Oduya, Leddy, Sharp, Bickell, Versteeg).

I heard was listening to Team 1040 radio in Vancouver and they had the beat writer for the Sabers on and he said the Sabers have 3 2nd rd picks and need to spend $30 mil to get to the cap floor. He said they will probably part with a few 2nd rd picks for players. Can definitely see them being a partner for the Hawks.

Anyone read Ecklund's new rumors on the Hawks trying to trade for the #5 pick to send to Vancouver for Kesler?

I dont really know the effect these signings have on the trade ideas. Smith and Raanta were two guy on the cheap, and RFAs, who were almost assured to be back no matter what

They didn't announce the salary.

Let's set the over/under on that announcement at a week.

I think 3 are locks to get moved today... Rosy, Oduya, Versteeg.

Bicks gets moved if the conpensation is right, and we get a decent 3rd line type player in return... Leddy only gets moved if VAN demands him with TT/Saad off the table. I think sharp stays around to be honest...

if thats true I imagine its Sharp+ for the #5 pick?

Then the #5 pick, Leddy, and a prospect for Kesler?

my best educated guess

I bet that's how the league is figuring out the exact number, 4 plinko chips and they take the average as the cap number

So...

You're saying to get Kesler the Hawks would need to give up Sharp, Leddy, pick 5 and a prospect.

Ummm... I'll pass on that plethora of talent/picks etc.

The only reason I believe Ek's new rumor about the Hawks and a top 5 pick, is because his source is JJ.

First I would hope they would get more than a #5 for Sharp, second Sharp may nbot want to go to a team who has the number 5 pick
