With the Canucks retaining half of his $7mil cap hit.

Why are the Canucks retaining his salary?

Sharp will not be traded everyone stop with this. He has a NMC and the only teams he will have on his list will be teams that are contenders and none of which I can think of would have space for his contract let alone the players the hawks would want back in the trade. He's not going anywhere.

As a penalty for not giving them Kesler for a 2nd round pick.

It's a running joke here. One of our posters floated a ridiculous trade scenario that had the Canucks taking Leddy some pucks and tape and retaining half of Kesler's cap hit.

We traded him to the StL thread for Carcus and StLJam. We had to throw in Fvineze but most of us were ok with that.

Hoping Paul's ominous post has us all happy at the end of the day for many reasons but primarily so I don't have to read post after post referring to "Blowman", "Nutless wonder", etc...followed by

I know your pining for Kesler Mr P. Anything else you'd like to see happen?

Who does everyone think the Hawks will draft tonight, assuming of course they don't trade the pick or move up in the draft order?

I'm going to go with a longshot if the picks retain #27?: Marcus Petterson a defenseman from Sweden.

I think the TSN site had him as the Hawk pick at 27 in their mock draft. If they do have the pick a SWE dman would not be a shocker.

Do you know anything about him?

Kesler

In all honestly , Spezza , or Sharp for.a.Montreal Center or something we havent thought of . I wont care if TT goes in a deal for a real Center (top 6 center) but if the Hawks can get a top 6 center and keep TT that would be super .

Everyone keeps saying "The Hawks were one lucky bounce away from winning back to back Cups..."

I think if the series vs the Kings was played 10000 x we lose in 7 games 10000 times. The Hawks know the reason for thia is weakness at Center . A true top 6 center would have such a great effect on the special teams and alotting other guys down the roster.

Thats what Im hoping for.

SB can go out today and trade for Kesler, Crosby and Shay Weber giving up only spare parts and having all their salary retained by their respective clubs and he'll still be called those names. It''s no different than some posters mocking Quenneville moments after a cup win. It takes all kinds to make the world go round.

Only what I have read from the hockey News and Wiz and others. He's a 6'3 161 lb defenseman who plays with a nasty attitude, he skates very well for a big ... err make that tall kid, he has a big shot and can run a Powerplay.

I guess we lack right kind of shrooms here in Finland? You are starting to scare me a bit. It´s Twean Peaks kind of feeling here. You Bob?

Agree with pretty much all of this and think it's definitely time to address 2C. Like you say, other guys can slot down: Smith, Shaw, etc.

Even though the Hawks were a bit outplayed by LA, that's not the series I was disappointed with their play so much; more the first two.

If not for Crow and some timely goal scoring the Hawks don't make through either of the first two rounds.

I think picking up a center or two this offseason will make the Hawks better and with the Wonder Twins due for big pay hikes, probably going to need a farmhand or two to start stepping up.
