How about something like Sharp and Kruger to COL for ROR and a 4th rounder?

What is ROR like on defense?

Selke good. Seriously

Kruger, the 27th overall, and Adam Clendening works fine for me.

The cAp space comes in the form of another roster subtraction...

You know I also stood in that corner saying Sharp's shoulder was bad...but then how the frack was he hitting balls at Wrigley a few days after their final game?

Amen to that.

Everyone talks about his production yet nobody says a word about his attitude. How many in uncharacteristic stupid retaliatory penalties did he take in the 2nd half of the season? His whole demeanor changed in the 2nd half.

Exactly and shout out to Ogi Wan and Mr. P for hollering at me on twitter.

And shoutout to brothers Mo and EK, who had it right. I usually take a break from HB in the summer.

If anyone cares....i'm @philcoforde on twitter...hit me up and i'll follow back no prob.

Thoughts on a few things TOMAHAWK....CONGRATS to Duncs on the Norris
Great season for him for the most part.

As for Kesler ? Torn. His talent is perfect for our needs, but i wonder about his health and what he brings chemistry wise. As i've said, my observation is, he's a bit of mope and not a fan of MOPES.

Kane and Toews re: $12 mil/year ? Big tag no doubt, but it might be a bargain in 2 or 3 years.

Trading Sharp ? Might finally be time. His value might still be high as a 'glue guy', marketing pawn for another franchise. And he's certainly done his part in nurturing Batman and Robin along. And after his abysmal playoff, might be time to part with 10.

Making an appearance !! What's up Phil ?

You're right, he was slow afoot in the playoffs. Unfortunately most of the team looked exhausted too, he just wasn't productive.

I'm not against trading him but we really need to find a solid 2nd center, whether in a trade for Sharp or otherwise. I don't want to see them give him away for draft picks that won't help the team at all for 3 years and perhaps never.

- Hemingways

The only draft picks to trade him for would be a top 3 or 4, but ideally I would like a player or players already in the league or ready this year on a cheap contract.

ROR is my favorite non-hawk but he is going to have a huge contract going forward. Plus colorado would want A LOT to trade him here. He would be great though

I was as well only thing that made sense as sharp had always shown up in the playoffs.

Now? Could care less. I hope they deal him.

Yeah I don't really like having close to a 3rd of the cap tied up in 3 players. I still see toews and Kane getting around $9 or $9.5, though. But that is a lot. Plus ROR and his dad seem like a lot of trouble

me too

Market is going up for guys like that...$12 mil is a big jump over Getzlaf......not sure....what would you do ?

- philco28

You may have to look at moving one of them. There is no way a team can be true contenders spending 30-35% of your cap space on 2 players. Seriously. Is their production going to increase? I doubt it. It will be those two and a bunch of guys on ELC's.

This may be a simple solution for the math ...

Leddy goes to Ottawa and Rozsival goes somewhere then Spezza comes here with $2 mill of salary retained.

Brookbank and Dalhback come in for a lot less than Leddy and Rozsival.
Numbers are really tight without Sharp being dealt....Hard to make a splash.

I posed this situation earlier. I also suggested if just maybe some team might attempt to move up to the #1 overall, then trade it insofar as the return would be a center (Kesler but you could also try for Spezza).

Ordinarily only a few teams might entertain moving up to the top few draft slots. But where else is help coming from? Even knowing this is a weak draft, the free agent list or your own list of prospects just may not be plentiful or the team cannot bring in those players- too expensive, or prospect not ready for NHL.

With two bona fire centers available teams may not be so quick to dismiss the acquisition of a high draft pick. That player may be about as good as a team's own prospect and therefore desirable by Vancouver or Edmonton.

I think they sign for less than $10.0 per, and I'll be shocked if it's a penny over $10.5.

I wouldn't want to move either but there is no way a team will be competitive spending that much on 2 players. So they can have money or money and a competitive team. And for all the they need money for the rest of their lives crap I have seen. They both made more than 30 mil before the age of 25, I think they are set.

with all the variables and concerns....they really need an inside straight to be dealt to make anything but a whimper a reality...

I am sure alot of this chatter is legit...StanBow as much said so...but most if not all of it will amount to a whimper
