The Hawks need to sign more goons. Stan's strength as a GM seems to be getting good picks trading them away.

A nice suprise

It's OK, I guess. Would be happier if it had been Rozy or Steeger. C'est la vie.

I think this will be normal, with the current waiver rules. 4 years of college gives guys more time to develop than 1-2 years in jr (until the get their ELC).

I want to shout out to JJ for a great job yesterday. Going by what the Canucks were saying after all was said and done, it sounds like he was right there on every rumor he put out yesterday. In the end, the Hawks were just outbid. The Hawks refusal to trade Saad (that JJ called) was the deal breaker.

For all the poop he gets on here, he deserves credit when he nails it.

My profile on

Matheson Iacopelli
3rd year eligible wing is a scorer with hard wrist shot and quick release. Strong when carrying on the attack and is able to find the soft areas in the attack zone for the set-up pass. Well balanced skater with a set of gears. So far he isn't very interested in the defensive zone. Committed to Western Michigan University.

Beau Starrett

Intriguing prospect from a hockey family with great height and attractive potential. Has the size but will remain a longer term prospect until he gets better coordinated and more muscle on his long skinny frame. There is lots to like and wait for. He has put points on the board, and plays a tenacious forechecking role. Strong on the puck. He has decent hands and a nice hard shot. Is a very good skater and once he puts muscle on, he may be a player.
Committed to Cornell University.

Lots of college kids. Are they looking for projects with upside on purpose I'm assuming or best available?

For those of you in Chicagoland, come out and see the future Hawks' draftees at the Steel games this fall. I always have a good time when I go.

One or both could still go.

Sharp for Nielsen and a 2nd next year.

Gotta think about this one: I liked Bollig on the 4th line more that most /many here - a cap screw-up casualty on first blush.
- StLBravesFan

ya, a little too much for a 4th liner with limited upside.

I think with the lowered cap amount, the Hawks will look to deal older players and keep the younger cheaper players. Rozy, I think is gone and I think they keep Nick Cage-Leddy.

Bollig seems like a good guy and I give him a lot of credit for becoming more than a fighter but his extension was a real head scratcher when they did it and he looked like a$$ in the playoffs. Good luck in Cal-Gary. Nice move Stan.

I hope they trade both Rozy and Leddy. Sign a veteran dman who can actually play defense, if possible.

Like that. Esp if they could get Martin. Replaces B52's toughness and better player.
