Hot of the press......teams will now be allowed to changed their rosters all the way up to the beginning of next season. Film at eleven on this momentous change....
- mohel

Well played Mohel

Besides the Hawks got two highly-sought freebies in Van Remsdyke and Carey that are much further along than what we saw today.

Losing a pick or two in a weak draft when the system is already nearly bursting at the seams is inconsequential

Take a deep breath, then go back to my posts and show me where I said "awesome". I'll await the answer.....

I didn't mean you said awesome ....

I was just curious as to how was today awesome at all for the Hawks ?

I still think the hawks wind up with mikael grabovski, on a one year deal. Obviously all the sharp trade talk is nonsense or he likely would have been moved tonight for draft picks and cap relief.
- Omahawk

Eh...Bowman can wait to move Sharp. I wouldn't trade him to load up on picks in this draft.

Soccer fan. The season does not begin tomorrow. I suggest a laxative.

Again, who suggested "awesome"? You and others are suggesting "tragic", "awful", and "end of an era". Way the (frank) over the top, imo.

Today was very disappointing . Maybe the Hawks will have a better day tomorrow or even a better summer ahead but the cap being 60m really really sucks.
- mrpaulish

They are 500K over the cap. Whoopee. They have a 22 man roster. You don't have to have 23. That is the limit. They move Rundblad and they are fine. Others will be moved.

Its an appropiate level.

There was very very high expectations todY from me.

Stan had 1 team to beat for Kesler and lost. It can still be remedied if he finds a center but doesnt look good.

Secondly the Cap is a lot lower than expected .

Today didnt go very well.

But Mohel has come in to pronounce what the appropriate responses should be. People who WHINE about WHINING are WHINERS themselves. If the discourse isn't to your liking, find something else to do.

If I see crap I don't agree with I may respond to it or (get this), I'll just pass it by but I won't suggest people are handling things in the wrong way based on my standards. Jump off that sanctimonious horse.

BTW, you were absolutely right in your posts about the league (frank)ing up in a big way on the cap. Can't lead the teams to think a certain number and miss by that much. As you like to say, the GM has to do his job, as do all the others.

No one we drafted would help soon anyways, so I don't care about the pick that much. Cap number sucks and makes shedding a very necessary evil right now. Didn't think we were getting Kesler or Spezza no matter what the eventual return was. I've been expecting a cheap veteran as 2c all along and that's what we'll get after some salary dump whenever we trade away someone for a 5th round pick in the 2017 draft. Stan won't trade that pick either because it will be very sought after as he's already looking at some 12 year old under the radar from Slovaeszkhatastan. I've come to expect no major moves for the better, just tinkering, that way mentally I'm not disappointed.

Don't teams like the Hawks and Bruins have more political power when it comes to decisions like the cap ? They could have pushed harder for a 72m cap ?

Or do they not care about that either ?

I'm mostly upset about the Cap# because even missing out on Kesler you figured the Hawks had other options but now it will be even trickier to have player movement

Not sure if he is yet, but a one-way contract this next year. I like his vision and hands, but he does not possess a 'pro game' (bad feet)--certainly one that fits the Hawks. Carey seems a more suitable replacement with more of a pro-style game IMO

The cap bothers me more than not making a deal to get a 2C.

If the cap was $1.5M higher - which is the number in the press last week - the Hawks would have $1M in cap space today. Big difference? To get the dreamy 2C everyone wants has ALWAYS meant big salary has to leave. It still does.

He will not be moved, Stanley wasted a 2nd round pick on him. They will, at least, give him this year to redeem himself.

You bark that I have "pronounced" certain things, which I assume is a bad thing because everyone is entitled to write their own opinion (it is actually an opinion, wise one); and then within a couple words you tell me to leave because you don't like my opinion. Perhaps a record for quickest contradiction of oneself. Nice work, wolfie.
- mohel

The greatest example of disengagement ever seen. You and others only offering to this forum is to chastise others for HOW they respond. I did not say you should not write your opinion, write it down, but be prepared to be called out if you are acting like a sanctimonious ass.

You take no exception to anything in particular, just that people are upset and responding in a way not to your liking. Get the hell over yourself.

And where did I tell you TO LEAVE? That's right, I didn't. Oh but you should leave if posting protocols don't make you happy. That's not a command only a suggestion.

Its for 575K. It won't count against the cap when he plays in the Rock next year.

Or training camp. Still think Dahlbeck wins a spot. Solid D-man
