Who was? I never was....sounds to me like sme haters who don't watch the game with their eyes were saying that....
- wiz1901

Several people who had watched him his last year in juniors said he seemed very on/off in the effort category.

So we fire a goalie coach who oversaw a goalie who SINGLE HANDEDLY WON a playoff series v. the Wild and basically won it versus St. Louis, who has won a Cup and followed up on another with comparable stats to John Messiah Quick...

YET, the freaking PowerPlay coach remains.

Hawks are not run by big league people.

LOL...Leddy is NOT a freaking top 4 on a Cup contender. It's laughable to consider and people can spare me the "he needs a good partner"...

Bowman on Kesler: "I don’t think it’s helpful to really talk about the talks. He’s in Anaheim now and we’re not really going to comment."

Bowman, asked about Sharp: "I don’t want to get into that. We believe in the guys we have and I think we’ve got a really good thing going."

I'll laugh with ya, but only if they try him with a Seabrook or Hammer for 20 games or so and it still blows up. Until then, my mind is open.
- 6628

They did. People wanted to trade Hammer. You can put him with Larry (frank)ing Robinson and it isn't going to help his main weakness. HIS decision making process. You can see him thinking.

I'll wait until July 2nd to say that. The team is still about half a million dollars over the cap ceiling. Bowman is going to have to make a move or two before July 1st.

From Wiz: "some question his comittment."

Hope your off on that one.

- Lido_Shuffle

It is a matter of him developing a 60 minute game.

The fact he can keep pucks by stickhandling in a phone booth, and is a terrific possession player.

Just because I judged him how I did I still had someone taking him in the first because you don't get a lot of chances getting the kind of ability he has.
Urgency in games is something that players develop, coaches help develop. North Dakota is top program and if the kid wants to stay there four years he only gets better, but if he gets better fast he will come out before that and be a pro.

Depending on what happens between now and July 2nd, both could be getting a long look.
- EKolb13

True. I know you're pretty high on Dahlbeck.

Schmaltz vs Schmaltz in a few years could be pretty fun.

Zactly!

The consensus seemed to be not many NHL ready guys in this years draft esp outside like the first 5 picks.

I read that even the top 5 may not be can't miss out the box. This draft WILL deliver some great talent, but as Wiz says we won't see it for a few years.

Disappointing day no doubt. Nice to get the Mission kid smaltz who could be another small forward on the hawks in 5 years I still have faith in the bowmans to add a player or two to make the hawks better at center and the bottom pair D... Still wishing for the big move but looking less likely after today.

Capgeek has the 13th forward as Joakim Nordstrom. If TT were to make the team over Nordstrom, add something like another 275k to the cap deficit.

Well, there is always tomorrow.
To not unload verstunk and rosi at a minimum is disappointing. To go forward with no legit 2c and the usual 175lb fringe suspects masquerading as top tier players is a joke. But hey, the hawks were only a "lucky bounce" away from cup.........In the words of Steven tyler....dream on

They tried Leddy with Seabrook or Hammer for 20 games? Really? I missed that.
