Bickell, Leddy and a 1st
for
Kesler
High price tag but helps both teams.... - ChicagoDave
IMHO, only if Benning went to a Colorado dope dispensary first. Why would he want Bickell, a guy who sucks during the regular season but shows up in the playoffs, something Vancouver won't see for the next 2-3 years? |

As things escalate on Kesler watch, hearing teams are trying hard, unsuccessfully, to get on his list. #TSN - hawkshossa81
This means Benning is close to a deal with one of Kesler's preferences. I read that as, "very close". Like about 27-ish hours close. |

Good luck having any depth on your team once you sign Toews and Kane to 24 million between the two.
It'll be the Pens all over again, only worse. |

Negotiations: yes, I think there was one in the summer of 1972 that was pretty important.
They screwed that one up. - StLBravesFan
Don't disagree, but to have a negotiation, you have to have two willing sides. Dollar Bill was seldom willing, especially when it came to paying for superstars. |

My prediction based below is based on a transaction which happened to my 13 year old son on Friday.
Ernie Banks bobble head day, A guy asks if he can buy the item after the game with an offer of $50, son says $100, guy $65, son $100, guy $85, son sold. We had an extra. Anyways, 12 million x 85% = 10.2 million each over 8 years - Cup-Bearer
That guy is clearly a collector, not an ebay reseller... |

Nope, not gonna happen. These guys want to win and they don't want to hold the team hostage. Besides, that absolutely flies in the face of Kaner wanting a 'real' 2C. Real 2C's don't grow on trees and they don't play for $750k either. |

McKenzie on Team 1040: I do get sense that something has happened in the last 24 that has accelerated things on Ryan Kesler front. #Canucks |

Those same people thought the Keith and Hossa deals would cripple the Hawks. A few years later they are bargains. If you don't think StanBow planned ahead for what Kane and Toews want/will get and where the cap is going, you're crazy. |

Agree because Crosby and Malkin can carry a team. I am not sure that Kane and Toews can do it without the help they've got now. |

Why can't tv stations allow you to pay 4.99 a month and stream their stuff online.
I suppose that would undercut the cable companies but (frank) em |

thing is ,,kane has far better playoff stats,,, does that mean he should get more because he performs better in the playoffs? |

So...you are saying trade one of them, then? Or both? Those are the options you've whittled yourself down to, apparently. - BreakoutHockey
No, I'm saying the negotiations have to involve the salary cap. Each side knows that well.
It comes down to absolute maximum money they want to make versus having a perennial cup contender; period.
This isn't a game of chicken like in MLB which has NO cap. The hard cap is out there, plain and easy for everyone to see.
$12M per and you can cut the 'Hawks chances of a 2016 cup in half, perhaps 2017 too. Sub-$10M and SB suddenly has $4-5M more to work with on those rosters. |

Sharp a Panther and Kesler a Hawk yet.....just check'n! - bogiedoc
Want to get things done? Deal TT for the #1 overall as centerpieces in first trade. Use that #1 plus a # 1 2015 for Kesler and their #2 2015. Deal Oduya and Sharp for picks or whatever. This is plan B if Statsny says no to Chg. Bowman gets partial or full season to determine if Leddy takes that next step. One year also for a few dman prospects in Rockford to prep. One year also to determine if Kruger can become an effective #3c. McNeill, Danault, Carey, Nordstrom are late season possibilities. By then Morin has played himself into a more prominent role for Chg or some other team. Hayes is like don't let the door hit you on your way out of town.
Hopefully Rosy can be given away. Stuck with Versteeg but there is slight possibility he could be dealt later in the season should he show that he is healthy. |
