Yeah, me too. It's an homerun swing, but at 26th they felt comfortable with it. I looked at the Saskatoon Blades' roster last season...he really didn't had much of a supporting cast there...

You never know man, 2012 looked like a pretty good draft at the time. Now Collberg is gone, Vail was not signed and Thrower played his overage year in junior.

It's not because the players are unknown to us that they won't turn out to be good. Certainly sucks for us though, we don't have much to say about 'em

I love the Scherbak pick, having said that he'd be my target pre-draft. I also like what they did afterwards. They swung for the fences this year, and if Scherbak and one more of those players pan out, this will have been a successful draft, IMO.

The NHLPA vetoed allowing the new contract with Canadian television to be part of the 2014-15 revenue.
While adding the contract would have given teams a larger cap rather than the $69 million that has been agreed to by both sides, the players association did not want an extra three percent of their contracts being placed in escrow. This will hurt teams up against the cap like Boston and Chicago and could hurt some UFA players who may not get offered a contract in the off-season. Should the revenues exceed the amount agreed upon, the players will still get 50 percent of all extra revenue to share at the end of the season.
