Just 1 most 1st overall, and they'll be good.

It's pretty hard to (frank) up drafting so high year after year. Again this year though I feel like they took the wrong guy.

Just another 1 dimensional skilled forward. Whatever, I can live with Oilers management pretending they know what they are doing.

It was probably available but the Oilers overplayed their hand and got burnt.

#canadiens are still hopeful to sign Mike Weaver. They are less hopeful to sign Brian Gionta. He could hit the market July 1s

- AGalchenyuk27

Bouillon is all but signed. Weaver is gone. Book it right now.

So I've been hearing for a few days that Kesler will indeed force the trade to Chicago and Chicago only. B prospect and a 2nd rounder or 1st rounder, C prospect and a salary dump. Care to weigh in on this ?

I like the deal for both sides. Hard for the Canucks to get maxxx value for a guy who pretty much wanted to be traded to like what? 3 teams?

Yeah, Ducks got the best player in the deal for sure. Bonino can play a bit though and he's entering his prime years. I like the McCann pick though. Not all that excited about Virtanen however, I feel that was a PR pick.

Very happy with the pick, he should've been gone by #20. Very swift skater, loves to beat players from the outside with his skating. Pete will have to follow Scherbak for us!

Surprising to see Barbashev drop so much, scouts must be scared of his average skating, a bit like Zykov last year. Whoever gets him tomorrow has to be very happy with that pick.

lol at the Deangelo pick at #19 from TB, has to be the worst pick of the draft. Vrana going so early was surprising.

STL and PIT are blessed to get their hands on Fabbri and Kapanen beyond #20.

Good pick by Boston, (frank)ers are drafting well, as usual.

From FC's drafting guide

NIKITA SCHERBAK
POSITION: Right Wing
SHOOTS: Left
TEAM: Saskatoon (WHL)
BORN: December 30, 1995
VITALS: 6’-2” / 175 Lbs
STATS: 65 GP 28 G 50 A 78 PTS 46 PIM
SCOUTING REPORT: Scherbak is a big winger who plays with a lot of skill and power. He is hunched over when he skates, but moves very well. Has a quick first step that allows him to attack small creases in the defense, but his overall acceleration and explosiveness have room to improve. Very elusive and agile for a player his size. His hands are a major strength in his game
as he always finds a way to maneuver in traffic while surveying his options to attack. Scherbak shows a high aptitude for finding open teammates while being pressured by defenders. Good, hard wrist shot that always seems to force the goalie to make a tough save, and his even balance of shot/pass plays keeps the opposition guessing. Very strong on his feet, although he was rarely the aggressor in the dirty areas. Scherbak spends a little bit too much time drifting in the neutral zone when he could assert himself at a better position on the breakout and in the defensive zone. His eyes seem to light up around the puck, but we would have liked to seen a little bit more competitiveness away from the play to help his team succeed. Concerns about some of his neutral- and defensive-zone tendencies, and the occasional careless turnover, are valid, but there is no denying his talent.
NHL POTENTIAL: Top-Six Offensive Winger

He's a very dangerous player, both for his team and the opponents. Guy plays literally 0 defense. Lots of skill, but he was a do not want for me in the first round.

You must be happy with McCann and Virtanen.

Super happy with getting McCann at 24, less stoked about Virtanen.

Scherbak’s team, on the other hand, only managed 2.875 GPG, so his 1.2 PPG had him contributing to 41.7% of his team’s offense. That’s up there with Michael Dal Colle…a top 5 consensus pick.
